'Magical' is a justified title. - Absolutely breath-taking. The scenery is hard to believe. It looks incredible in pictures, but this does nothing to prepare you for the sheer scale and size of the rock formations. Then, trying to work out how the Monasteries and Nunneries were built on them, several hundreds of years ago, leaves your mind agog. It is sometimes a bit of a trek to actually go inside some of them, but it is definitely worth it. The exhibitions answer some of your questions about the landscape and the building. It can get a little busy with tour buses, so I'd suggest staying nearby and planning early/late visits. The opening times and day for each monastery vary, so plan carefully if you intend to see them all.

Unbelievable Meteora - This tour was a real highlight of our holiday. Even though the day was overcast Meteora, its geology and location is just amazing. A relatively long day but well worth it!

Day trip from Parga August 2023 - We really enjoyed the trip. It’s a long day, but totally worth it. Our tour leader Yvonna was really informative and friendly and we had a great coach driver in Nikos. Comfort/ refreshment stops were just right, and the recommended restaurant visit for lunch was really good ( fab food) too. We visited two very different monasteries and had ample free time at both. There were also a number of stops for us to take pictures and enjoy the vistas, allowing us to see all of the remaining monasteries. Everything about this trip was good; timings, balance of activities and food/ refreshment stops, information and guidance…good value for money! Would definitely recommend.

Stunning. - Long day, but you don't notice it. The scenery on the way there and back, keeps your attention. The monasteries will have you thinking how did they manage that all those years ago, and why did the monks even consider it. Coffee/toilet break on way there and back. Visit two of the six monasteries. Three stop off points to view/photograph the monasteries, and take in the views. Then after all that, lunch where you're invited into the kitchen to make your choice of the days offerings. Yvonne gave out very interesting information on the area, there and back. Also ideas for other trips either by coach or hire car. The bus driver Nikos is very capable and safe. I would highly recommend this trip.

Great day out to a UNESCO site - Great day out, albeit a long one with an early start. To be fair, the scenery along the route is pretty good, but Meteora is stunning - you get to visit a couple of the monasteries and, despite the height they’re at, access is straightforward - one even catered for a group of wheelchair users. You can’t fail to take great pics that are bound to make your friends and family envious 😀 The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the driver was excellent - highly recommended

Wonderful trip - Loved the bus ride to Meteora, getting to know the region more by looking at the scenery and listening to Yvonne. Visiting the monasteries was also wonderful, and we pretty much avoided the queues. Would recommend to anyone interested in getting to know the area and the history surrounding it.

Trip to Meteora - Great to see and I enjoyed going into the monasteries. Glad I went when the weather wasn’t so hot. Coach was cramped. A long time travelling for a couple of quick photo stops and 45 minutes in 2 monasteries. The lunch stop was awful, 40 mins in a terrible place with overpriced food. No option to go elsewhere. I’d take my own if I went again. Tour guide knowledgeable and a lovely driver.
