Great Guy Gouldie - Booked this tour which unfortunately fell on a holiday. Instead Shane turned it around and showed us all the places around Pretoria that a tourist wont go - golf clubs, coffee shops, university campus. Really got to see the other side of the city. And he is a Great guy to talk to. Knows his stuff. We spent a few hours talking about random things such as cricket, coffee, beer, immigration, US politics and what not. Had a lovely time Shane. My mom and I agree on that and we would love to meet you again sometimes. Cheers!

Excellent time with Shane - Shane is an excellent tour guide. He is knowledgeable of the history of SA and we were able to learn a lot . He is easy to converse with and he makes you feel relaxed and at home. The tour package was very reasonable money wise and was very good. We ended the day eating dinner at a great restaurant and had a relaxing ride home.

Excellent tour with a brilliant guide - This was a fantastic tour which was made extra great by Shane who is a really nice guy and gives great insight into the history, the location and SA in general. I and the group had a great chat with Shane and it made the day. In regards to the location itself, Pretoria is definitely worth seeing. It may be lesser seen than Jo’burg but in my opinion, it is essential to visit the capital city and Shane’s your really brought it to life. Thank you mate!

Pretoria - We are so glad to meet Mr. Shane and have a wonderful time with him. The most memorable thing to us is the history of Pretoria city that was explained by Mr. Shane. While we have lunch together, Mr. Shane share his experience about S. African health food in the markets and restaurants.

Shane Gouldie, Most Excellent Tour Guide - In over 45 years of international travel, I have never come across such an exceptionally gifted guide as Shane Gouldie. During our recent stay in Johannesburg, we took several tours with him and each time he impressed me even more than the last. Whether it was adding little extras to each tour, bartering with street vendors for me, adding his 4th generation South African in-depth knowledge and his own world-wide travel experience to our trips, Shane was a delightful companion throughout. He took us out to the Cradle of Civilization one morning, and then to the Rhino and Lion Park in time for the feeding of the lions, the cheetahs and the wild dogs. He seemed to know everyone at the Park and was therefore able to position his little Suzuki always in the right place for the best photos. Even the touring buses moved aside for him. As a native of Pretoria, he easily transformed our tour of that city to become a personal, informative, and very interesting journey through the centuries, especially when visiting the magnificent Voortrekker Monument and Union Building, with its beautifully manicured grounds. With some extra time left over after the Pretoria tour, he asked if we would also like to visit the Lesedi Cultural Village, which we readily agreed to do. Again, he seemed to know everyone there and, again, bargained a significant discount on the souvenirs I purchased. Communication before and after the tours, via What’s App, were simple, responses readily provided, On our first day, he picked us up at our hotel, and within minutes we were rolling through Johannesburg, chatting away like old friends. He proved to be a most personable, interesting and reliable guide and someone I could easily call a friend, after only a few short hours. Shane Gouldie comes with my absolutely highest recommendation, something that I believe I have never done. He makes me look forward to my return to South Africa.
