Black Light Theatre Srnec is the first theatre of its kind in the world. The audience was first able to see the company in summer of 1961 at the Edinburgh International Festival.
Jiřà Srnec (1931) managed to create an entirely original non-verbal theatre genre that, since the day of its foundation, enjoys success not only in Czechia but all over the world.
The company has already had more than 300 tours in 68 countries and has attended 87 festivals. The company’s performances were seen by more than 5 million spectators and the theatre also won countless international awards. In 2002 it was chosen to represent Czech culture during the NATO summit in Prague. In 2011 was Jiřà Srnec awarded the Medal of Merit in the field of culture and art and in 2014 he was awarded the European cultural award Trebbia for creative activity.

The foundational black light theatre piece AntologÃa, showcases the superior scenes crafted by the company from its inception in 1961. This comical, dance-infused 95-minute showcase is filled with adept black light theatre sleight-of-hand, set to the original music score by the theatre’s founder, Jiri Srnec. The event commences at 8pm in the centrally-located Prague theatre, and travel arrangements are not covered.
