MOSQUITO BAY Bioluminescence - Don’t Miss It! - We were lucky to book online by text at the last moment for the same day, just ~3 hours before the tour began. Thank you Viator! We anchored in our boat in Sun Bay, rowed ashore in our dinghy, and the eco tour company picked us up along beach. William and Danny were excellent guides, William in the shuttle can and Danny in the kayaks. The time in the water flew by. The dinoflagellates were giving Oscar-worthy performances, which is to say the bioluminescence was spectacular. The moonlight, cloud cover, and light wind made for a great show. Definitely the best of the 3 bioluminescent bay trips we’ve done.

Great tour - The weather was perfect with a little bit rain. The tour guide was great and considerate. The driver was very responsible and took us to the ferry terminal on time. 1 hour kayak is more than sufficient to experience the magic.

Great - The water was very nice. It’s two per kayak. The guides were nice and bilingual. They knew tricks to capture the water on your phone, and without the ticks the picture didn’t come out great.

Bioluminescent 7pm Tour Amazing!!! - Amazing Bioluminescent Tour – Everything You Need to Know! I hope this review helps answer some of the questions I had before booking this tour! Who: Family of four (kids 13 & 17). Our tour group had around 20 people, from toddlers to adults. What: Bioluminescent Tour in Vieques How: We took the 1 PM Ceiba Ferry. Since tickets were sold out online, we used Island Breeze Taxi to secure them at the booth—they saved the day! Timing: Ferry at 1 PM → Arrived in Vieques at 2:30 PM Arranged a taxi (do this beforehand or as soon as disembarking the ferry as they go fast!) Spent the afternoon at Caracas Beach Dinner in Esperanza (Bananas & Duffy’s are walking distance to the meeting point) Met at 6:45 PM for the 7 PM tour Caught the last ferry back at 9:30 PM I was concerned about two things: Would it be dark enough for good visibility? YES! No need for tarps on this tour, the glow was strong, and a quick rain shower made it even better as the clouds provided more darkness. Would we get back to the ferry in time? YES! This was the only company I found that provided return transportation. Tour Guides: Extremely knowledgeable, fun, and attentive! They pointed out Mars, Jupiter, and constellations. A highlight for me—they taught us how to set up our phones for the best shots, which was a game-changer since capturing the glow is tricky. Extras: Clear kayaks made it even more magical, allowing us to see the glow beneath us. Transportation back to the ferry—a huge perk since taxis are scarce at night. Wear bug repellent. you will get wet on the kayak! We didn’t rent a car or golf cart, just used taxis. Tips: Check the moon calendar (BK Adventures has a great one). We went four days before a new moon, and it was perfect. Final Verdict: A must-do! I was skeptical, but this experience was absolutely worth it. Make a day trip to Vieques, enjoy the gorgeous beaches, and witness the world’s best bioluminescent bay—it’s unforgettable!

Phenomenal - Life highlight experience. The galaxy in the ocean. These folks run a smooth and knowledgeable operation to escort you into an other worldly adventure. The fully clear kayaks are essential, don’t bother with anything else.

A perfect night for the bay - We went on a perfect night. The sky, the stars and clouds, the mysterious dark water. First the Rollercoaster van ride down a crazy road, but ended at the bay. Our guides were so helpful, patient, informative and sweet. Danny led us out into the middle of the bay where the bioluminescence was just amazing. It was a bit windy but not that hard to paddle out and then around the bay. We felt amazed by the experience, had a better understanding of the ecology and Danny took a film of us with the lights around us and sent it to me. A completely perfect experience. We are in our 70s ut kept up easily. Thanks!

7:00pm tour! - This was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience! Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and gave us a tour of the bioluminescent bay and pointed out constellations. We went on nearly a full moon night (7:00pm tour), but the bioluminescent bay was still very bright. We did not stay overnight on Vieques but the tour guides guaranteed they would bring us back in time for the 9:30pm ferry (we made it with plenty of time to spare)! The tour guide took a video of my boyfriend and I splashing our hands around in the bay! It was an amazing experience and the clear kayaks were an added bonus! I would highly recommend this excursion!!

Bay was great - Communication was iffy. William and Kayla were great, however, in their accommodating another group, the groups that were on time ended up having to wait nearly an hour past our tour time. The Bay was amazing and William got us back to the ferry in time. Due to this late group, we didn’t get much time on the water.
