Exciting experience - we see up & close the historical landmarks thru riding the city bus tour. Seeing the entire Berlin comfortably.

Sightseeing tour of Potsdam - We had purchased the Berlin Welcome card All Inclusive, which included both public transport to Potsdam and the City Sightseeing tour of Potsdam. To take the tour you have to validate your ticket at the North Exit of Potsdam station (there is a desk and tour umbrella) and then you wait for the bus. The tour takes you all round the very attractive town of Potsdam and there are stops at all the key sights. As we only had a morning, we simply went round the town but you could see all the palaces and other key spots, including crossing the Bridge of Spies. Very enjoyable way to spend 2 hours.

Great bus tour - Great bus tour with many languages to choose from. Informative and good to be able to go on and off. We learned a lot underway. And had good time for lunch at Cecilehof and walking in Sans Souci park.

Sees the sights - This bus tour was okay, it lets you see the sights of Potsdam. The bus runs every 30 mins and is an automated tour.

Frequency is too long and operation hours are too short - Potsdam is a beautiful city and there is a lot to see. Therefore, I decided to take the HopOn / HopOff tour bus, like many other tourists. Unfortunately, the bus runs every hour only, so that you don’t have enough time to get off the bus, to explore new things. Moreover, the operation hours are too short and the bus, especially the upper deck, is always too crowded. The price (20 Euro) is too expensive - better to take public transport.

Very disappointing, not what we expected! - We enjoyed the train trip from Berlin Mitte to Potsdam and were looking forward to our hop on hop off bus tour in this beautiful city of palaces. Someone from the company had a stand set up across from the station and told us the HOHO bus wouldn't be leaving for at least another 30mins but we could take the other bus that only stops @ 3 of the palaces and has a live commentary. So we chose this option knowing that we could do the HOHO bus after this one. The first thing we noticed were the extremely uncomfortable seats and then that the live commentary was in German and our English version was via earplugs. Have they ever done a tour like this previously????!!!! We were seated near the front and a few other English speaking travellers were likewise sprinkled throughout the mainly German speaking travellers. After several minutes of commentary, we soon realised we couldn't possibly hear our version because of the loud microphone with German drowning it out = 2 huge headaches!!! At the first stop, where we were spoken to in 2 language groups, we requested that the non-German group be placed @ the back of the bus and the rest up the front.....what genius.....it worked :) The visit to the palaces was informative but quite short and it was almost impossible to take photos of so many of the sites that we wanted to for eg, Brandenburg Gate, as the driver didn't slow down for photo opportunities :( On arrival back @ Potsdam station we were planning on using the HOHO Bus to see more of the city at our leisure, but were told the bus is only every hour!! The thought of being left stranded @ a stop here as we were left stranded @ Eastside Gallery by Big Bus Berlin was too much, to tempt fate....so we jumped on the reliable train back to Berlin. At least we saw some of Potsdam but certainly not what we had planned or expected....very disappointing!

Poor effort - We were very disappointed, the buses only run every hour, and there is so much to see and do that they need to be every 30 minutes, like it says in the brochure. We were dropped at the bridge, which doesn't need an hour to view, so waited after 30 minutes, the bus came, slowed to turn around, and told us we couldnt get on! We caught the 3.50pm bus to go to stop 9, but it wasn't going there, it was the last bus!! Frustration after frustration.

City Sight Seeing in discomfort - We waited at the stop where a loud salesman for the company tried to sell us tickets. He was unhappy that we’d already bought them. While we waited we saw 3 or 4 Big Berlin buses come through and various other bus companies. We waited…and waited. Then the bus arrived and stopped 100metres away so we and all the others the salesman had sold tickets to, trudge over to it, only to find it completely full. None of the other buses we saw were full. And so we waited again, watching all the other bus companies come and go. Meanwhile the loud salesman sold more and more tickets and a large cohort of people were all waiting for the same bus. Then, eventually, another bus arrived. It stopped in the original spot so we all had to trudge back 100m down the road. Loud salesman tried to make sure those he’d sold tickets to were first in the queue but I made sure that wasn’t going to happen. We got on the bus and managed to secure two seats up top. I have no idea whether everyone got on or whether some had to wait again. The seats were hard plastic and I spent my whole time trying not to slip down on them. Very uncomfortable. There were earphones to listen to the audio guide which must have been recorded at least 5 years ago, if not more. At one point it referred to a construction site that would be there for a long time yet with works not planned to finish until 2019! Surely they could have updated this since then. There was no construction, at least not at this particular site. There was construction at other sites but these must have started by 2018 or later as there was no mention of it in the audio. The audio guide was often out of sync with the journey, talking about buildings that we’d gone passed or not yet reached. At one point the bus stopped and we were told they were taking a 15 minute break! We just had to sit and wait. Some got off to take photos while they waited and the driver tried to fill their seats while they were gone. She sent a family up to fill the three separated empty seats on various different parts of the bus and when this family were told the seats were taken by people just taking photos, the driver came up and interrogated anyone who had said as much. I will not be taking another trip with this company and with so many other bus companies to choose from I would suggest others don’t either.

Do not do this - This is terrible, the bus only runs by the hour and goes to the same stop 3 times. The driver was dirty looking and stopped each time to smoke a cigarette etc. Do not do this! Go only to sans soucci and ride a bike or hire a car to ceceliehof.

waste of money - Waste of money - the explanations in English are fine but the audio quality is terrible with half the earphone outlets out of order. It is an automatic recording so the system has errors. However, the main problem is that the bus goes around every hour - in August! which is ridiculous for a hop on hop off bus.
