This destination is an acknowledged protected area and a natural sanctuary for numerous Herons and Birds. The experience gets even more exciting with the sighting of bottlenose dolphins who frequently accompany boats venturing through these waterways. The best time to catch a glimpse of them is during the mid-tide and less often during the low tide. These adorable creatures steal the spotlight in this stunning location. Afterward, we’re off to a cocoa farm where we will witness the industrial and artisanal methods of chocolate production in Ecuador. Wonderful trip! - Our guides (Yamil and Wendy) were excellent - professional and very knowledgeable. We learned about the mangroves and saw bottle nose dolphins, roseate spoonbills, white ibis, little blue herons, the magnificent frigate bird colony, and more. Very interesting to see the local crab fishery and catch. And the tour of the cacao plantation was very interesting with some delicious surprise treats. Definitely recommend this tour!

Wonderful day - We booked the tour to the Churute Mangrove but Yamil wrote before to say that because of the heavy rains it could be difficult to get there. So we choose the tour to Puerto del Morro with its birds and dolphins. It was so peaceful to ride on this mangrove. Than we went to cocoa farm and factory to see how the cocoa is produced and how they change it in chocolate. Very interesting if you are a chocolate lover. Which we liked the most was the fact that Viasam Tours work with the locals regarding to show the tourists how these people work and to give them options to work with tourism when they can not use their boats to fish for example. Thank you so much Yamil for this wonderful day.

Less Than I Expected - It was a very long drive to the port, we only saw a couple of dolphins fins. The boat trip was long with a few nice colored birds. They were lovely. They tour said lunch was included. I got a cup of coffee.

It was changed and I wasn't notified... -
It was changed and I wasn't notified until I met the tour guide. I didn't go to Puerto del Morro or see the Mangroves or dolphins. The Cacao portion was so-so. I wouldn't recommend this tour.
