Additional Information

Vietri sul mare is renowned for its ceramics characterized by the vibrant hues of the Mediterranean such as yellow, green, and blue. The town is considered an open-air museum as the skilled artisans proudly display their masterpieces outside their shops, turning Vietri into a visual spectacle of art and colour.

Next, we visit Cetara, the most genuine coastal village known for its anchovy fishing and the delicious and prized ‘colatura di alici’, a form of ‘anchovy dripping’. There will be a visit to a local store where they will demonstrate how this unique delicacy is prepared and give us an opportunity to taste it.

We take a break for an independent lunch at one of the local ‘trattorias’ followed by a leisurely stroll on the pedestrian walkway offering picturesque views of the marina.

Our final destination is Salerno, remarkable for its Art Nouveau-style power palaces and a stunning historical centre, dominated by the St Matteo Cathedral. Overlooking the city from ‘Bonadies’ hill stands the ancient Lombard castle, and during the winter, the city comes alive with the creative light displays of the well-known event, Salerno ‘artist lights’.
