According to some, it was built in the 16th century by Portuguese; others say that it was built by Ras Darge (who was Menelik’s uncle) in the 19th century. After crossing the bridge, go to your left by the side of the river until you reach on a large rock suitable to view the 600m waterfall. It is also a home of several rare birds (lammergeyer, Abyssinian ground hornbill, endemic banded barbet, Abyssinian woodpecker and much more) and endemic Gelada

The stunning and spectacular falls - We had a trip to visit Portuguese bride with my Friend last June, it was really spectacular and a great experience to be around the bridge ,we saw the baboon troops around the falls also, The grace of the falls was superb,,,
