• Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral) - The Porto Cathedral, along with the city’s initial fortifications, was established in the 12th century by its first bishop, D. Hugo. Also known as the Church of Santa Maria do Porto, de Nossa Senhora do Porto da Eterna Salvação, or Nossa Senhora da Vandoma, it highlights the significance of the Marian cult. • Sao Bento Railway Station - Constructed at the start of the 20th century on the site of the former Convent of S. Bento de Avé-Maria, the S. The station’s vestibule is decorated with 20,000 tiles painted by Jorge Colaço, depicting the evolution of transportation and significant events in Portuguese history. • Torre dos Clerigos - A true baroque masterpiece by Nicolau Nasoni, this monument is a symbol of Porto.

The Church of Clérigos, a baroque gem from the mid-18th century, was designed by Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, who left his mark on many monuments in Porto and northern Portugal. Nasoni was laid to rest here, in a small chapel at the top of the double bolster stairway.

• Vila Nova de Gaia - It’s time to explore the Port Wine Lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Port wine originates in the Douro Valley, but it matures and develops its distinctive flavor near the city that shares its name. The river has long been used to transport wine barrels to the quays of Vila Nova de Gaia, where the lodges are located, and where the wine ages before being distributed worldwide.

• Promenade Foz do Douro - To truly experience Porto and its history, visit Foz do Douro. Facing the Atlantic, you’ll be captivated by the area’s exceptional quality of life and romantic walks, where the sun and sea unite in a breathtaking display each evening.

These beaches proudly bear the blue flag eco-label, indicating high-quality, unpolluted seawater. Stroll beneath the “Pergola da Foz,” built in the 1930s. Legend has it that the Mayor of Porto’s wife was so charmed by the pergola on the “Promenade des Anglais” in Nice, France, that she insisted on having a similar one in Porto. Here, it’s known as “Praia dos Ingleses,” a nod to the longstanding relationship between the English and Portugal.

• Jardim da Rotunda da Boavista - Conclude the tour by exploring the modern part of the city. The tour kicks off with a guided stroll through Porto’s historic center, beginning at Avenida dos Aliados to appreciate its remarkable architecture and the nearby Clérigos Tower.
