Get Claudia as your your guide - Claudia was an amazing tour guide and so much fun to talk to - she really made the food tour special and knows her stuff. She makes you feel comfortable throughout the tour and I would recommend her as she twined others in her company.

Wonderful walking food tour in downtown Porto - Manuela was our extremely knowledgeable and friendly local guide. The tour includes several stops at different tascas (small traditional snack bars), and includes wine. The tour started with a cheese and ham sample platter, followed by a bifana (the tasty Porto version of the pork sandwich), sardines, peppers, potato based sausage, flame grilled chorizo, a caramelized apple snack, cod fritters and breaded potato sausage balls with sweet-and-sour sauce. The tour ends with pasteis de nata and espresso at the Manteigaria, one of the very best manufacturers of this very traditional Portuguese dessert. You get to walk off some of the calories inbetween the various stops, and get lots of historical and background information throughout this great tour. No worries about minimum threshold cancellations you may be accustomed to with similar venues in Lisbon - my wife and I booked only one day in advance, and were the only people on this excellent tour. Don't miss out!

A delightful culinary tour of Porto - Trying out the exquisite culinary offerings of Porto was not only an Epicurean delight but a cultural and intellectual one in the company of my tour guide Manuela, who radiates not only warmth and intelligence but a genuine affection for her hometown. The tour was personalized and turned out to be more enjoyable since it was just me and Manuela who graciously let me set the pace for the tour. (Kudos for the company for not canceling on a single customer considering February is hardly peak season.) The wealth of trivia and quaint little details Manuela knew about Porto's cheeses, plazas and other miscellany was both the amuse bouche and dessert to the afternoon's wanderings. Indulge yourself and book this tour with Manuela.

Good food! Not a great city tour. - The food is really really good. I’m basing my rating on the food. The guide was not knowledgable about Porto itself. If you want a guide that’s able to give you history/ info on the city that’s not happening There was a guide in training that was shadowing, he was knowledgeable! I have taken a lot of food tours, and I am used to the guide being able to give me interesting and historical information on the city as well as tell me about the food that we are eating. They are always able to tie the food to the history of the city, or the people. that really did not happen during this tour.
