Gorgeous, delightful, well worth the trip - Our guides were superb and such good company, and the hike itself + waterfalls were beautiful. We went on a cloudy day, and it was still drop-dead gorgeous. It was a perfect day trip from Porto for our group of friends. The following day, we went to a local movie theatre to watch an independent film (Légua), which featured one of the views we’d seen on the hike, and the wild wolves our guide had talked about in Geres also made a brief appearance. It was a lovely full circle experience, where the fabric of Portugal was shared with us in person on the hike and again in this devastatingly beautiful movie.

Fantastic day out of the city! - Fantastic time out of the city! Not too hard of a hike, slight incline at times, rocky road but otherwise flat! Took over 1.5 hours to reach destination, minibus has air con too. Views are amazing, guide is patient and friendly (Joel). Remember to bring food, water, wet shoes and towels. Highly recommend, worth the money!! Book even if it says the weather looks bad, never believe the forecast in porto!

Park managed with Marco - We took an excursion to the managed park with Marco, a great guide who showed us a magnificent place for swimming in the lake and in a small picnic waterfall. Really thanks to Marco

Amazing family activity with refreshing swim - Fantastic hike. As described, it is about a 5 mile walk with a lengthy swim / lunch stop in the middle. The trail is extremely well maintained (as they tend to be in Europe) and the mountains range is impressive. The views from the van were outstanding. We went on a hot day, and were prepared with sunscreen and lots of water. If we didn’t have the swim, it would have been a problem. But the water was clear and so refreshing. We really enjoyed having lunch with the locals, trying the different pools, jumping and diving from the rocks. It is a popular spot on a hot day, so expect that. The drive is about 2 hours from Porto, a little longer than expected. The morning stop for coffee and bathroom breaks was perfect. Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) would highly recommend this activity if you are a nature lover and reasonably fit. If you are a “hiker”, you will not find this difficult. We thought it was perfect for a 86 degree day. Long enough to get your legs moving and a real sweat. Not so long that it was miserable in the heat. Our guide was excellent, and made the day fun and light with easy conversation. He knew the roads and area very well and taught us interesting facts about Portugal. AC in the van was excellent. Highly recommended.

Best part of our vacation - Me and my girlfriend did this tour yesterday and we had the best time hiking and swimming in Gerês National Park. We were guided by Andre, who was very nice and chill. He gave us a lot of information before, during and after the tour. Swimming in the lagoons was an amazing experience and the waters were very clear. The hike was perfectly timed, not too long but also not too short. This tour was by far the best part of our vacation it was beyond our expectations!

Wonderful hike, great guide - We had a nice hike with a group of 8 people. The tour guide was friendly, and the drive to the park from Porto was nice. After a 2-hour hike, we arrived at the pools where we could swim, which was refreshing and beautiful. Unfortunately, we had a little setback during the swimming part. Not to go into more details, but a big thumbs up to our guide and the other people from PortoLocals who helped us. Thank you again!! We definitely recommend this tour and PortoLocals in general. Kind regards!

We had a 5 km hike to... - We had a 5 km hike to springs where we rest for 2 h, and took the same way back. Guide was very cool! Recommend 100% for nature lovers! You shouldn’t forget to bring food with you.

Everything as promised - We had a lovely hike in the Geres National Park followed by a swim in the cold pools which were amazing as it was a very hot day. Our guide was very friendly and shared many stories making this hike even better. What I loved the most, was the fact that there were no hidden surprises - we picked this because of the promise of a smaller hike and more swimming time which was exactly what happened. The hike itself was very pleasant, nothing too hard, but not a walk in the park as well.

Clear turquoise pool reward - Easy hike on a good day. Challenging in 40c. 5km 8n and 5 km out. However the hot weather made swimming in the mountain pools delicious. Many springs along the way to we your bandana. Long bus ride from. Porto. 2.5 hours. Be prepared. Guide was excellent!!!!!

wonderful day - Great day with a nice surprise seeing its natural swimming pools, not many people it was great! The big negative point which is not specified is that we left at 8:30 a.m. from the starting point and we only arrived at 11:40 a.m. at the starting point of the hike (1h30 of hiking which was great) for the route we had took 2h30 which is pretty good. Good experience to have nonetheless. I recommend
