For the views of the valley - Rodrigo (& Joseph) picked us up promptly from our hotel in Porto. We drove to the Douro Valley. Breathtaking views. Quinta Dos Castelares had fabulous tastings - wine, honey, and olive oil. They do ship to USA; they do NOT accept AMEX. Lunch at what used to be a primary school in a small village was just ok. They served bread, cheese, and sausages and then a veal dish and/or a creamed cod with potatoes. Dessert was either fruit or flan. It was unremarkable (then again, I'm a snobby foodie person). Had a pleasant, relaxing boat tour with more unbelievable views. Second vineyard was Quinta de Santa Eufemia. Great offerings of five (or was it six?) different ports. They do not ship to USA. Interesting tour with discussion of how the port is made. Overall, 10/10 for this tour. Would do it again for the views alone.

Fun day at vineyard - Despite a slight delay in pick-up due to traffic, our Douro Valley wine tour turned out to be a fantastic outing. The guides were friendly and enthusiastic about all things wine and port. Bonus is I had the chance to meet some cool people along the way. The selection of vineyards was excellent, with the first one offering a diverse range of wines and port. Lunch, a delightful three-course meal, added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this all-day memorable wine-tasting adventure. One negative: The cruise portion was too crowded and we were the last to board.

We DO talk about Bruno (because he is amazing!) - I had such an amazing time on this tour, and Bruno is an incredible guide. We stopped at two wineries for tastings, did the river cruise, and had a delicious Portuguese lunch. I had so much fun despite getting motion sick (my own fault for not eating a proper breakfast and not bringing Dramamine!), and even when I got sick I was so well taken care of by Bruno and the rest of the people in my group. It was an unforgettable day, and I’m so glad I went.

Stunning views and excellent wine - Bruno was the guide of this small group of 6. I really enjoyed the trip and especially the first vineyard (small production). Stunning views along the way, excellent lunch, good information. The cruise was only okay as we joined with many others. The second vineyard very modern and much larger than the first. And we had lovely weather. All in all a great way to see the countryside and get a good overview of the area.

Awesome experience - What a wonderful day and perfect way to get to see the Duoro valley and learn a lot from our guide Sergio at the same time. He was a great driver and guide, and shared history of the area and wine making. The lunch was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Glad this tour allowed us to see a small winery at the first location, which we never would have known about otherwise. Definitely recommend this tour!

Educational and memorable - I would Definitely recommend this trip. I was debating whether to book a small group tour or a larger one and i was so glad I chose the small one, it was definitely worth it. We even brought our teenage children with us. It might not have been on their bucket list, however all the hosts were very accommodating to them the whole day. I think adding the boat trip was a great idea. Andreia was absolutely fantastic. Her passion and enthusiasm was shown ALL day. She was such a happy person to have as our tour guide. Thank you!!! We really enjoyed the different contrast of the 2 wineries. The day was perfect! I would not have changed any if the plans! It is a long day but a memory I’ll never forget even though we had some rain.

Lovely Visit to Duoro - Had a great guide, Piedro, very knowledgeable and concerned with our enjoyment. Went out of his way to be helpful. We do feel the lunch needs improvement. Also the meeting place was changed from when we booked to a different place and notification was by email only. Lucky we had email access while traveling. Suggest you rethink this practice.

Good way to see the Douro Valley - It was a nice time. We enjoyed the wineries. It could have been improved in the following ways. We were stuck in the back seat of the van and couldn’t hear very much. The guide seemed good and friendly but we didn’t get to talk to him much. It would be good to rotate seating. Also we signed up for an English speaking tour but had one person that spoke Portuguese so the guide repeated everything. That couple should have gone on a Portuguese speaking tour.

Lovely Douro Valley, great wine tasting! - The drive down to the Douro Valley Was scenic and lovely. Jose was a good, safe driver but he spoke little, hard to understand English . The vineyards were a nice complement to each other; one old family owned small one and the other was a large recently-English- acquired vineyard : both excellent. Lunch was in a charming former schoolhouse with simple traditional meal. All in all , an OK trip.
