Beautiful canoe trip - My girlfriend and myself decided to take this canoe trip after a lot of research, where one can do something like that in the area around Lisbon. Our Tour was scheduled at 10 a.m.. Per E-Mail we requested a transit from our Hotel in Lisbon to the Beach, which is not that easy to reach with only public transportation. So Marco from Discover the Nature picked us up at 08:30 a.m. and on the way showed and told us a lot about the Ponte 25 de abril, the area around and on the way to Portinho de Arrábida, the natural and maritime parks and so on. It was really interesting. Since we arrived a bit early, Marco offered to introduce us to a small cave with a chapel inside, which we gladly accepted. There he also told us a lot about the area and even took some pictures for us. Afterwards we went to the beach and got introduced to our guide Fabio who told us about the techniques and so on. The tour itself was very entertaining. At the end we couldn't figure out, how almost 3 hours went by that fast. We canoed across the coast, visited two beautiful beaches, where we stopped shortly to rest, refresh etc., saw several small mini-caves and canoed around Anixa, a small, picturesque rock-island vis-a-vis Praia do Portinho da Arrábida. Fabio meanwhile told us some things about the area and specific sights and also offered us some snacks and water. At the end he came to aid another couple, who fell over the canoe into the water and helped them put it on top again and get back inside, which probably isn't that easy with life vests on and paddles to handle. After the tour the guides (thera was another tour going on) called Marco, who brought us back to our hotel. Overall it was a great experience worth the cost and time.
