Odysseo, Mauritius’ inaugural oceanarium, opened its doors on September 6, 2021. The aquarium stretches across 5,500 m2 and consists of 45 tanks with a combined capacity of 2 million liters, providing a habitat for 3,500 marine creatures.

A pleasant visit - This isn’t a hue aquarium. But it is very well laid out. You see the main tank from every way possible. There are many smaller tanks with information of what’s in them. It would be nice if they could get their message if recycling to the rest of the island.

A top tourist attraction - Odyssey is a world class oceanarium, very comprehensive and beautifully presented. We have snorkeled at Blue Bay and the oceanarium is a great way to learn more about the marine environment and its inhabitants. It deserves to be on the itinerary of every visitor to Mauritius.

Great experience - Odysseo offers first and foremost a pleasant and unique learning and educative experience to its visitors. It is an invitation to visitors to dive into a fascinating world, where one can almost feel sharks, fishes, and corals, at fingertips, where visitors can
wide open their eyes to the beauties and treasures of the deep blue waters.

Food staff are very rude - Aquarium itself was nice, kids had fun. The staff at the snack/drinks station were very rude, especially the lady who was working the till. I wouldn't go back as it puts a dampener on the trip. I spoke to one of the gift shop staff about the incident , hoping to get a manager involved ( manager was not available) and apparently I'm not the first to complain about the food staff's rudeness.
