Positioned in Mauritius’ central area, Le Pouce is the island’s third highest peak, boasting a height of 812 meters.
The mountain’s resemblance to a thumb gave it its name, Le Pouce, and it provides one of the most popular hiking experiences in the region. Reaching the summit provides an awe-inspiring 360-degree view of the entire island!
To one side, you can view the capital, Port Louis, with its towering buildings, while the opposite side presents stunning vistas of the adjacent mountains surrounded by verdant sugarcane fields. Le Morne, Coin de Mire, and other noteworthy features of the island can also be seen from this vantage point.
Over the course of the hike, you’ll be treated to a local Mauritian lunch and dry snacks. Bottled water and refreshments are also provided for your comfort!
