Preserved by the cataclysmic eruption of Vesuvius, Pompeii offers a gateway into an ancient era. Its crumbling remnants serve as a temporal conduit, connecting us to a period 2000 years past, to the places where the Romans navigated their everyday existence. The elaborately ornate dwellings and advanced bathhouses are sure to fascinate you. Upon reaching the heart of the city, flanked by grand marble structures, pillars, and civil buildings, you’ll witness a breathtaking panorama of Vesuvius. A certain aphorism goes, ‘Pompeii remains the most vibrant of deceased cities.’ And indeed, strolling its streets, you may feel a palpable continuum of life, envisioning folks engaging in commerce, dining, and imbibing in the marketplace. This city retains both its glory and its gloom, reflecting not only its refinement, opulence, and affluence, but also its decidedly somber and sizzling aspects. Thoroughly engaging and educational experience with Dario! - We met Dario through a friend who lives in Naples. He was a FANTASTIC guide who's English is impeccable! Dario lead us through Pompeii and took us back in time by sharing stories of that amazing city's existence prior to Mt Vesuvius's explosion. He would pull us into the narrative of the daily lives of the residents and business owners. Dario was engaging and more than willing to answer any and all of our varied questions. If we taken the tour solo, we would have missed so much about the intricacies of Roman life in Pompeii. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Dario and highly suggest that you book a tour with him for Pompeii!!
