On several occasions, the number of sightseers at Pompeii exceeds its former citizen count. The most favourable period is during the final few hours leading up to the closure. This is when the temperature and crowd sizes begin to decrease, as cruise ship passengers usually depart around four. The enchanting, warm orange hue of the setting sun adds a mystical touch to the Pompeii experience.

By far the best tour of our Italy trip. - By far, hands down the very best tour of our 12+ tours we took in Italy over 2 1/2 weeks.
Alex was very knowledgeable about Pompeii and any questions we had for him. He moved quickly thru the site so we could see as much as possible but stopped and explained items when needed or we asked.
It was by far the best tour of our trip. HIGHLY recommended

Amazing experience. - Alex was by far the BEST tour guide we had on our whole trip. He was knowledgeable and funny, and he kept all three of our kids engaged and enthralled. They all said his tour of Pompeii was the highlight of our time in Italy. Thank you, Alex, for the memories. And be careful of your ankle!!

Unexpected Pompeii beauty - We had an amazing backdrop of stormy skies and cooler temperatures. Our guide Alex was amazing, extremely informative and very patient with our slow moving group. This was a fantastic fun tour! Thank you Alex!!

Alex is awesome!!! This... - Alex is awesome!!! This was my fourth time to Pompeii of several years and the second time I've had the pleasure to enjoy his educational and fun tour. He makes every person within our group feel involved, connected, inspired and feel important no matter their age. Fantastic afternoon tour of Pompei - Alex was a great guide, very knowledgeable and able to share his expertise and passion with adults, teenagers and younger kids. We did the 4:00pm tour to avoid earlier crowds and heat and we’re very happy with our choice. We highly recommend visiting Pompei with Alex as a guide, he was truly inspiring and fun.

Perfect afternoon in Pompeii! - We visited on a very hot day and this 2-hour tour was so interesting and engaging the time passed so quickly! Alex is a fantastic storyteller and had our group of two adults and four teens completely engaged. We referenced things we learned with Alex for the remainder of our time in Italy and it felt like the foundational tour for all the other history we learned in Rome and beyond. If you can make this late afternoon tour you will not be disappointed. We visited the amphitheater and had it to ourselves and could hear the echo of our voices in the acoustics.

Amazing tour! - My husband and I had the pleasure of having Alex as our tour guide. Alex spoke with such passion and knowledge about Pompeii, he was personable and entertaining and willing to answer all our questions. It was a very memorable and eye opening experience. We also recommend going at sunset to avoid the heat of the day and the busy crowds. Thank you Alex.
