Experience a 2-hour tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii led by a professional archaeologist guide and skip the line tickets included in a small group of maximum 20 people. Learn about the history of the town and how the Romans lived and see all the most important public buildings and private houses.
Visit the Western part of the town. You will see the Marina Gate, the Basilica, the Forum, the baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium, the main street, the Plaster Casts of the dead’s, and the Theaters.
The tour is available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German and starts at the main entrance of Pompeii Ruins, called Porta Marina Superiore.
- Tour will be available all year around with rain or shine
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen in the summer.

The best of Pompeii in 2 hours. - We had a fantastic tour with Antonella. Pompeii is a massive site and is impossible to take in with any sort of limited time budget. Also, the extreme heat during the summer months will bring even the most enthusiastic visitor's quest to an abrupt halt. This tour is an absolute must for anyone wishing to get the best of their time. The group is small so there are no delays in accessing the various properties as it's possible to weave through the much larger tours. Antonella is incredibly knowledgeable as someone who has spent her career at the site as a working archeologist. She mixed humour and tragedy to highlight the human story of Pompeii and bring it to life. Her English is flawless (much better than some of the US guys among our group lol) and she made sure that everyone's headset was working correctly and that we were all looked after. She also provided those who were staying on at the site with recommendations on what to see next and how best to traverse the various areas. Thanks for making our trip unforgettable, Antonella!

Pompeii: beyond all expectations - After an advance of 30 Min on schedule, for logistical reasons, we left for this tour of the excavations, as per the title, beyond all expectations.
Our guide, Laura, with her extremely engaging manner, with the passion that literally made her eyes shine, was able to guide us in a highly emotional experience. The enthusiasm shown, the capacity for suggestion, the anecdotes told, the deep knowledge of the site and the history, meant that despite the very high temperature and the large influx of people, at the end of the scheduled time, practically the whole group had the impression of having just entered and the desire to continue on the path. Throughout the visit she was able to keep the attention of the audience, an uncommon gift also seen the context. Very commendable. If you have a visit to the excavations in mind, the best wish I can do is to find her as a guide.

Great, specialised, tour guide with good English - Nicoletta was very informative and we were very glad we did the tour with her first before going to Pompeii as we learned a lot and could recognise things at the second site.

Nicoletta - best Pompeii guide. - We took a guided tour of Pompeii on Friday 13th June at 11:00am.
Our tour guide Nicoletta was fantastic.
I am planning to come back to Pompeii later in the year with some friends and would take the tour again - we learnt so much and Nicoletta was very friendly, knowledgeable and witty.
She really gave us an idea of what living in Pompeii was like for all classes of inhabitants.
Nicoletta is the best!

Great guide - The Guide (Francesco Longobardi) was very nice and professional. Despite the bad weather and heavy rain we visited interesting sites and were told a lot about the life of the Romans at the time. Recommended. Not very clear about the initial organization.

Not responsive - We had trouble getting to the meeting location. Multiple taxis were called to pick us up and one finally came but it late and resulted in us missing our tour. I kept messaging and calling the organizer to advise of the situation and asked what our options are but to date have still not received any replies which was very disappointing.

Pompeii tour - Not the best experience. The instructions for the entry point were vague and we went to two gates before we found the third, correct one. Our tour had left and they tried to hold us for one and a half hours to join another one. It was 35° and we had already walked for 30 minutes to find the entrance. The tour company tried to refuse us our tickets to go in by ourselves and it took a strenuous discussion and the threat of negative publicity to get our tickets.

No regard for visitor safety - Did not take the tour due to severe thunderstorm so would not recommend. The company said they would not cancel or reschedule the tour due to the extreme weather of thunder, lightning, and heavy rains. We were not offered to move to another tour time either and no refund offered. I would consider this dangerous conditions to walk around at a high elevation with tall structures and uneven, slick paths of rocks. I did communicate with the company an hour prior to tour time and they insisted the tour would continue with no regard for visitor safety. Be ware if you book that you cannot cancel the day of. Be prepared to walk on slippery large rocks in all weather conditions. We took shelter and went to the park on our own later and agreed that this would not be walkable during a thunderstorm.

1 star – Disappointing and unsafe experience – would not recommend - Our experience with Pompeii ASKOS Tours was deeply disappointing and, frankly, unsafe. The tour should never have gone ahead given the severe thunderstorm and near-zero visibility on the day. Despite the dangerous conditions, the company made no effort to cancel, reschedule, or even warn us in advance.
The guide did not wait for the group, making it nearly impossible to follow along or stay together in the heavy rain. To make matters worse, the audio equipment was completely non-functional – no sound, no communication – which rendered the entire tour pointless.
We were soaked, lost most of the commentary, and felt abandoned throughout the experience. Despite raising these issues, ASKOS Tours refused to offer any form of reimbursement or compensation for what was clearly a poorly managed and substandard service.
Pompeii is an extraordinary site, but sadly, our visit was ruined by the lack of professionalism and concern from this company. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a guided tour that prioritizes safety, organization, and customer care.
