Pompeii, Italian Pompei, preserved ancient Roman city in Campania, Italy, 14 miles (23 km) southeast of Naples, at the southeastern base of Mount Vesuvius. It was built on a spur formed by a prehistoric lava flow to the north of the mouth of the Sarnus (modern Sarno) River. Pompeii was destroyed, together with Herculaneum, Stabiae, Torre Annunziata, and other communities, by the violent eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. The circumstances of their destruction preserved their remains as a unique document of Greco-Roman life. Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Torre Annunziata were collectively designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997.

We offer pick up from your Hotel/port/airport/train station, followed by a tour to Pompeii where you can spend up to 2 hours uncovering the secrets of the ancient city before being dropped off at your desired location. Please note, the Pompeii entry ticket is not included and comes at an additional cost of E19 per person. Admission is free for those under 18.
Should it interest you, we can also arrange a private guided tour in Pompeii at an extra cost of E120 for up to 6 people or E140 for up to 8 people. This is to be paid in cash directly to the guide at the end of the tour.
