Direct route to the Vesuvio cone and a majestic view (with a bit of walking - bring appropriate shoes) - Great opportunity to visit the crater directly with direct transport from Napoli centre (Garibaldi Square). Bus was well AC'd and driving was managed safely -- no mean feat with the windy roads heading up the cone or the oncoming tourism traffic. You get a good 1 hour and a bit (+15 or 30 minutes, depending on arrival time) to scale the 1.4 km of steep walking up to the cone. I recommend bringing plenty of water and appropriate footwear as in spite of the distance as the crow flies, it is one steep walk. Fortunately, there are plenty of refreshment stations/shops/cafes on the climb up and when you eventually reach the top. The view on both sides (crater and coast) is well-worth the hike!

Great experience - The bus driver was excellent driving the crazy narrow road. The hike to the crater was very doable. The bus was comfortable.

Not worth the money - Not worth the money, time was not sufficient enough to leisurely climb, spend adequate time on top and return Unfortunately, this was the only way we could get tickets to Mount Vesuvius. It appears all the tours buy up the tickets so it’s your only option. We took five tours while we were in Naples and this was by far the worst

Good but crowded in summer - But your ticket for the entrance for the Vesuvius Park yourself online ,you pay 11 euro. Around Vesuvio will charge you more. I paid 16 with them plus 20 for the ride. Moderate hike up to the crater and good views from up there,just not an ideal hike in summer but getting there on the first tour of the morning would be just fine and you would avoid the crowds if people arriving later on.Also a little bit if more free time could be a plus

NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE - The excursion started with a small delay at the meeting point, completely understandable with the traffic in Naples. However, the bus was in good condition and comfortable. I paid for the 3-hour tour with guide for 4 people, paying 45 euros each instead of 39.90, just to have the guide. Once we arrived at the turnstiles, after the long walk to get to the top, we found no guide. Last but not least, meeting at the entrance at 3.40pm, when the vehicle arrived there was total confusion, with many people gathered waiting for the bus to Naples, with related discussions between passengers. Overall, disappointing experience for organization

A bit on the scammy side - I was silly enough to not plan ahead and so ended up looking for tickets for Pompeii and Vesuvius for me and my 11 year old son at short notice. Made the mistake of booking tickets with this company, and they only had tickets available for the afternoon (total cost was 80.65 euro) - we ended up rushing round Pompeii (a shame), knowing that we'd have to get to this agency's offices by about 3pm for the bus transfer over to Vesuvius. Problem is, the offices are more than a mile from the Pompeii ruins, so we decided to make our own way on a public bus over to Vesuvius instead. But on arriving there, the staff member from Around Vesuvio wouldn't let us through the entrance gate to climb the summit path - she made a lengthy phone call to her boss, then said we'd have to pay 18 euro more because my son is 11 - yet when I'd booked the day before, there'd been no mention of this being the case. I got the distinct feeling that the company are making it up as they go along and if a chance presents itself to get a bit more money out of a desperate tourist, they'll be unscrupulous. My advice, not surprisingly, is to plan ahead and ensure that if visiting both sites on the same day, give yourself loads of time at each one, and don't book tickets through agencies like this one.

Avoid! - Total scam.They took us to the gate and back.Crater was closed and they knew it but did not cancel the tour. Avoid at all cost. No refunds.

Scam!!! - This company is scam and falling apart in organisation. Nobady there on pick up point instead they give you redirection. Of course nobdy there either. When you try to call they are rude and hung up on you. Our trip didnt happen because they didn' show up! When you try to make refund they laugh at you. Book somwhere else and spare yourself a lot of stress.
