Not to be missed - One of the highlights of our visit to S Africa. Our guide Boniwe was so informative and passionate about the education of people towards the preservation of the wild animals and the rehabilitation of those injured and brought to the sanctuary. I have learned so much about the animals and to be so close up to the lions in particular was incredible. Please visit and support this non profit organisation, you won’t regret it.

Big cat rescue - If you are interested in conservation of these beautiful animal then this one hour walking tour is definitely the thing for you. It’s not a zoo and these are rescued beautiful cats. You even get to walk around with the Corvallis but no touching. This Cats have come from zoos. Private homes etc and the lions rescued from a trophy hunting farm. Well worth the visit and support the cause also.

Best day ever! - Tenikwa is an incredible experience. It is magical to be so close to the rehabilitated and happy cats. We are so glad that we had the opportunity to visit this amazing center and we are in awe of the wonderful work that is being done here. Our guide Boniwa was wonderful and made our experience both informative and meaningful. She interwove her knowledge of the cats and wildlife with snippets of cultural wisdom that we really enjoyed. We had the best day ever!

A thoroughly enjoyable experience - We stayed overnight here in the Lion Lodge and had a date night meal. First and foremost this particular part of our experience was brilliant. Staying so close to the lions you can feel the reverberations when they start roaring at 0400. Not for the faint of heart! The cabin was rustic comfort with all that we needed for our stay! Hot shower and comfortable bed. Beautiful petals on the bed! Our extremely attentive staff were Davidson and his lovely wife who cooked and served our dinner and breakfast. These two are golden! They really looked after us and made our whole stay! Thankyou so much. We then booked a wild cat experience that was with Boniwa that exceeded our expectations- getting so close to the cheetahs and her knowing where to find the leopard in the morning heat. The tour was so informative and whilst it’s always sad to see wild animals captive you understood why they were there and the efforts the park go to ensuring where possible that those animals that can be are rehabilitated and returned to the wild. Loved e dry minute and the entire team there are so helpful and knowledgeable! Even had to get a jump start when our battery went flat from the wonderful maintenance team! Thanks guys! Must visit!

A special place and a memorable experience - We spent one night here and would happily have stayed for more. Tenikwa has a special feel to it and we loved our time there. The staff were warm and welcoming and very accommodating and helpful. In particular the manager, Keri, made the experience unforgettable. Spending time with the cats in their own environment with someone who is so knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and the ethos of the sanctuary was very memorable. Thank you to all. We will be back

Very well kept animal rescue center with great staff! - We came just in time for a guided tour so make sure you plan your arrival to that. You can’t walk around on your own. Our guide was amazing. She knew the animals very well and could answer all our questions. She had worked there for over 4 years. We met all animals and got to enter the areas for some of the cats. All in all a great experience!

Can the guide ask people to respect the animals - This would have been enjoyable except the 2 of us were put with a big group of noisy people who laughed and talked loudly all the way round. The guide should have asked them for quiet and respect for the animals. Ruined for us.
