Recommended!!! - This was such a great tour! I had a lot of fun and got to see a lot- it definitely was about 8 hours from pick up to drop off but it was a great experience and good value for your buck. I would recommend this to family/friends the cenotes were beautiful and the guides were entertaining- you also get time to stroll and take tour own photos.

Very nice guide, - Very nice guide, everything worked out. Although not mentioned, there were drinks and a snack, we have experienced that differently here before. The cenotes were very beautiful and still original. Hopefully they can keep this magic. Tulum is very busy, but definitely worth seeing.

Very informative tour - Our tour guide Carlos was very knowledgeable as well as funny. The Tulum archeological ruins were very nice to see, definitely wear comfortable shoes to do this tour. Expect to not be able to walk within the ruins (only around) as it is closed off for better conservation. You'll get 2 hours for Tulum which was enough considering the heat and the size of the archeological ruins but that will leave you no time to look around the shops they have at the entrance of the area. We were okay with this since we weren't looking to buy souvenirs anyways. Next up was the cenote Mariposa situated in a Mayan village. There is a 2nd cenote within the village at walking distance (5-7 min walk) so definitely bring flip flops or water shoes if you want to see the 2nd cenote. There are facilities/bathrooms to take a shower before entering the cenote and lockers to store your things. You can also wear a provided flotation device if you are not a confident swimmer. Our mini-shuttle driver Angel was also very nice! Overall, this was a great tour to do, maybe you might feel rushed at the beginning but it was the perfect length for me as I was still able to return to my hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the beach (left at 8:30AM returned around 3PM). On a side note, definitely buy this tour online if you don't want to get ripped off like me, I bought this tour within the hotel for $79 USD per person so I could have saved a lot if I did my research and bought this tour online.

An Excellent Tulum Tour! - We couldn't decide about going to Tulum, but boy am I glad we did. We were lucky to get the fantastic Sophie who spent her time educating the group about the context of Mayan heritage prior to hitting the site. My wife and I were the only English people on the tour, yet Sophie made sure that we felt included in all discussion and information session. Thank you Sophie. Tulum was lovely and as nice as it was, the best was yet to come. We hit two cenotes, again with Sophie explain their nature and relevance to Mayan culture. My wife doesn't swim, yet Sophie included her in further discussions around culture which my wife greatly appreciated. Following this wand took part in a couple of other activities and ewe were cleansed by a shaman. Sophie's passion for Mayan culture was fantastic, making the tour really immersive. Pedro our driver also did well, traversing the rocky uneven roads.

Tulum Mayan Ruins & cenote quick experiences - As we were close to Tulum our pick up was about 9 am; then quick ride to Tulum & ruins. Bus was large one, with about 40 people on board. Our guide Christian spoke Espanola and English fluently, going back and forth at speed so we could all mostly) understand. We had about 2 1/2 hrs at ruins; with Christian guiding us through some of the highlights and pointing out where to get best vantage point for views and photos. Two hours was enough—saw the various structures, viewpoints and gave us a bit of free time to wander the site. Also note there is a area before ruins featuring stores, eateries (including Starbucks, Subway) and bar, plus folks posing with various animals for photos (including massive boa!) Then quite a road into the cenotes. There are change rooms and bathrooms and lockers, plus cafe and bar at start, along with art & handicrafts. We had ample time to swim in both the centoes (suggestion being go to walk the 5 mins to further one first then back to larger one, that way you don’t have to walk so far to change rooms at end.) Then we were back at resort by 3pm. It was a perfect intro tour and experience, without having to spend long day on the road. I would recommend it. Note if a person has mobility issues this probably not the most ideal excursion as fair bit of walking over uneven surfaces.

Good tour guide, disorganized company - Our experience was mixed. First the good- -Miguel was lovely. Really nice guy, funny, and knowledgeable. No complaints about him at all. -The locations were beautiful and overall, I had a good time. However, there were some definite issues. -The van was extremely uncomfortable. We were packed in like sardines with less leg room than an economy flight. We spent over two hours in the van, so this was not a small thing. -There was a dedicated driver who didn’t do the tour with us, but he didn’t think to start it at the end, so it was extremely hot when we got in. -There was a lot of confusion at pick up, resulting in us waiting for an extra 30 minutes or so before we could get going. -Early on, two of our group members didn’t meet at the starting point. Miguel had given us 5 minutes to grab a drink and go to the bathroom. They didn’t return to start the tour. I don’t know what company policy is but Miguel spent about half an hour on the phone with them trying to figure out what to do. This half hour ended up screwing over the rest of the group. Miguel assured us that we’d get our full two hour time in Tulum. That was a lie. We were supposed to get a one hour tour of the ruins and an hour of free time to explore Tulum- grab lunch, shop, etc. We ended up with just 23 minutes of free time. In a place where there are lines for everything, it wasn’t nearly enough time. So no lunch for us. We were lucky to get a water, a scoop of gelato, and go to the bathroom. -Despite getting screwed out of 37 minutes of free time in Tulum, the tour still ran late. It’s advertised as a half day tour. Many of the others run 12 hours, which my spouse and I found too long. We specifically chose this one because it was supposed to be half a day. Despite this, we weren’t dropped off until after 5 pm. We were all ready to leave when Miguel spontaneously declared that he was going to give a presentation on Mayan chocolate making. That was an extra 20 minutes. Then they messed up the drop off, going to an extra hotel that nobody was staying at and adding more time. In the morning, despite the mixup with the vans, we all met at a central location. The evening drop off was a meandering event going to 4 or 5 locations. Ultimately Miguel was wonderful but I don’t think I’d recommend Ekinox as a company unless they made some major changes, including their policy when guests don’t show up at a meeting point. Paying customers shouldn’t get screwed out of time in a location just because of other people’s negligence. -
