first ever dive - Had a great time with these guys, especially Diane with which i did my very first dive. You don't need any prior knowledge to participate in the half day course Discover Scuba Diving and enjoy the beauty of the underwater world. So to anyone hows interested i can just recommend to take the step and try out scuba diving. It was an awesome experience. Thinking about coming back to get my OWD certification!

Scuba Diving at Riu Palace Mexico - We stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico and booked a Discover Scuba Diving dive at the Barracuda Reef. As beginners to scuba diving the experience was fantastic. Our scuba diving instructor was Diane who was friendly, professional and immediately put us at ease. She took time going through the instructions and safety briefing and we were able to practice in the pool with the equipmentent before diving. On the dive, Diane made sure we were OK throughout and was able to provide as much support as we needed. She pointed out fish as we were diving and we were lucky enough to see a loggerhead turtle. We would highly recommend Diane and Scuba Caribe to anyone thinking of diving while in Mexico!

Well organised & safe for new divers - My daugher & I have both dived before in Egypt & Turkey but this was by far the safest & best run we have done. our Dive teacher Diane was amazing & explanied everythinfg clearly with a passion. there werent many fish to see but as did see turtles & a nurse shark in its cave. We booked this & other excursions through Scuba caribe at out hotel Rui Palace Rivera Maya with Daniel he sorted everthing out perfectly for us including all transfers for Dolphin discovery, scuba diving & Xplor park, He went above & beyond his job by contacting us frequensly to remind us what we needed & where to be 5*

great day trip - excursion day trip was very good, great food, great activities (visiting mayan ruins, swimming in a cenote, turtle snorkelling). diving was also good but i felt seasick on the boat. wasn’t really their fault though lol

Great couple of dives with some great people - Wife and I had not dived for 25 years and our daughter never. So we did a joint refresh and discover scuba together with Dani who PADI instructor at the Playacar dive shop. He was brilliant and made us all very comfortable and feeling safe. The first open water dive was a bit of a challenge with the drop off the boat into some mid to strong current. Dani dealt with the situation extremely well and got us all down to the safe depth for my rookie daughter who we expanded the Discover Scuba to PADI Suba Diver certificate Dive sites were not the best we have seen but were perfect for our needs as a new diver and 2 very rusty divers. Another member of Scuba Caribe team, Jose, followed the dive with a good camera and took some fab shots and vids of our first ever dive together, giving us visuals of our treasured memoires to take away. All staff were absolutely lovely, the Dive shop very relaxed in a good spot on the beach. All the equipment was in good condition. Highly recommend checking them out if you are in that region looking for a dive shop.

Awesome couple of dives in Mexico - Took a couple of guided dives from the Riu Yucatan onto the reef near Playa del Carmen. This stretch of coast, indeed Playa del Carmen itself, have changed beyond all recognition. Thankfully, the reef remains a thing of natural beauty. I hadn't dived for a few years but it was the first time underwater for my two teenage girls. A discovery dive therefore made sense so we all share some special moments together. Anyway, I can't remember our guide's name of the top of my head but he was a really cool, friendly Spanish guy who took us down to see coral, fishes, turtles, and a rare spotted eel. Very friendly, very chilled gang on the dive boat and the whole experience was awesome. Would wholeheartedly recommend diving with these guys!

Fantastic day with a fantastic instructor - Have dived before but not for 15 years so booked a refresher course for my wife and I and an intro course for our 14 year old son. Our instructor Mathilde Lacaze was amazing, took time to refresh my skills and teach our son how to dive, she then took us on two brilliant dives. We had such a great experience that my son has now signed up to do his open water course here because he enjoyed it and felt safe and confident, Mathilde really looked after him and has got him hooked !!! Throughly recommend the course and Mathilde, many thanks

Discover dive definitely worth your time. - First dive ever, was an excellent experience. Beautiful water, coral and fish! Laura and Matilda are great instructors.

Not as described, not recommended for beginners - Terrible experience. The training is for less than an hour and is very rushed. The practice "tank" is actually a 3ft resort pool in which we were taught to breathing and hand signs for about 20 minutes. There was no pool lesson on equalizing pressure etc. We spent more time waiting for the boat to arrive than on the lessons itself. I felt very uncomfortable after the lesson and chose not to go into the ocean. My husband went and within 10ft in the ocean felt ear pain and couldn't complete it. This would've been identified if the practice tank was deeper. We spent a lot of money for nothing... Definitely not recommended for a first time dive, unless you are ready to jump into 40ft ocean depth with 30 minutes practice in a 3ft pool.
