A wonderful day of jungle, biking, and cenote swimming - The pleasure of vacationing in and around Playa De Carmen will be increased considerably when you tour with Mama Nature and super host Alex! Very approachable knowledgeable and respectful, Alex made sure every detail of our excursion was confirmed the day before. He arrived early to pick us up and on the 20 minute drive to the starting point of the bike tour, he went over all the details of our itinerary, answering and questions and assuring us in our choice. Before we even swung a leg over the bike, Alex fit each to the rider and politely reviewed their operation. The. We were off for a 7.5 mile ride in the jungle, starting in a local village and the out in the thick of it. About an hour later we arrived at a private cenote where Alex expertly explained to us where to enter, where to jump off the ledge up high (taking the first plunge himself) and then acting as photographer and videographer for the day (he takes really good shots too). Then after an hour it was back the way we came. Exhausted, we were so thankful when Alex took us to a local OXXO for refreshments. I’d rare Alex a 100/100 and the tour that high as well. It was a truly wonderful active day hosted by a kind young man sharing his country with us. A word of advice: bring at least two bottles of water for each rider Viator indicates that you should bring snacks which maybe you wish to do but water is an essential as there’s nothing available in the jungle.

Highlight of our trip to Mexico, get to know the Cenotes in a private tour! - The Bike Tour was a hightlight of our vacation in Mexico. Initially we couldn’t pick our Hotel as pick-up point on Viator but after booking our Guide contacted us to pick us up at our accomodation. He picked us up punctually and after a few minutes in the car he gave us our bikes and helmets and we drove about 12 km to a hidden cenote, which we had all to ourselves. On the way through the jungle we even saw 2 green parrots. At the cenote we had enough time to admire the nature and take a long swim in the cristalclear water. Alex is very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about how cenotes were created, which was very interesting. After our swim we got back on our bikes and drove back to the car. We liked the tour so much that we spontaniously booked another tour with Alex for the next day, where he showed us the tunnel system of another cenote, which was equally stunning. For anyone searching for a more private tour, this is it, as the maximum of people on this tour is 4 people.

Not your typical commercial tour. - This is not your typical commercial tour. Alex is a local that takes small groups of up to 4 people on a 10 mile round trip bike ride into the jungle to experience a pretty cool cenote. He speaks both English and Spanish and we had wonderful conversations with him as he explained the history of the cenote and area. The cenote is a little primitive, so there is no place to change when you get there to swim, so keep that in mind. The bike ride itself was very easy gravel roads and the mountain bikes had plenty of shocks to smooth the ride. My wife does not cycle regularly, and she did great (though her butt got a little sore by the end). Any relatively fit person should not find the ride difficult. I would highly recommend this tour.

Fun bike ride and a beautiful swim - Alex was a great guide. He speaks English, Spanish, and French. It’s just him, his truck, and some bikes. He picked us up from our hotel on time. (Don’t worry if your hotel isn’t listed on trip adviser, just tell him where you are). The route is on a rough jungle trail. It’s mildly technical, but not too hard for most cyclists. I love to bike and I thought it was fun! He tells you all about the geology and history of the land and the cenotes. The cenote is super pretty. Crystal blue and clear and very deep in parts. There’s a platform to jump in and cliffs to jump off higher. Alex likes to free dive and it’s pretty crazy watching him go down so far. He brings goggles for guests. He’s very friendly and we had a great time!

The most beautiful place - First time mountain biking and it was really fun and scary at the same time. The road leading to the cenote was beautiful but bumpy(hence my butt hurts). The cenote was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen so far. The water temperature was perfect. We swam for awhile. Our guide, Alex, was on top of everything. This was the highlight of my trip!!

Unforgettable Adventure with Alex! - My wife and I had an amazing day exploring a cenote and cave with Alex! From the easy-moderate bike ride to the private cave exploration, every moment exceeded our expectations. Alex's communication before the tour was top-notch through WhatsApp, and he ensured our safety and comfort throughout. He expertly timed our cenote visit, giving us a private experience with perfect sunlight. Goggles provided a unique perspective of the blue water's depths. Alex's knowledge enriched our journey, fostering appreciation for history and ecological impact. The private cave exploration was unparalleled, with crystal-clear water and peaceful flashlight-lit exploration . Alex's thoughtful touch extended to a magical meditation in a beautiful chamber. The day felt like exploring with a friend rather than a paid guide. We're grateful to have crossed paths with Alex – he’s an incredible human!

Gorgeous, informative, fun, and great exercise!! - Wonderful experience! Just mountain biking through the jungle was great. Mostly along weatherbeaten dirt roads with a bit of “single track” thrown in. No need to be an expert biker! But the cenote’? OMG, pretty much all to ourselves and just gorgeous! Cool, comfortable water, places to jump off small cliffs—just magical! Thanks, Alex!!

Not a corporate experience - Alex is a mindful and clearly spiritual person who understands the importance of a true nature experience. The guide is the owner and he will teach you about the history and the geological formations of the Yucatán. The 7 mile ride into the jungle was beautiful after mile 1. We got started early and there were two people and their guide at the cenote when we got there. They left relatively soon after and we had it to ourselves for over an hour before the ATV tours arrived. Alex was attentive to our needs and was a gracious host in “his office.” I held off on a five star rating because the bikes were not of the highest quality. I realize I am a bit of a bike snob, but some basic maintenance could go a long way to improving the bike part of the experience. My family and I highly recommend this tour. Support the small business owner who respects the environment of Central America.
