Cudos to Ekinox Tours for a caring tour to Tulum and Coba helping with our special needs - We throughly enjoyed the private tour for six we arranged through Ekinox to Tulum and Coba in Mexico with lunch and a visit to a cenote. We arranged a private tour to accommodate my son who uses a wheelchair. Our guide, Angle, was knowledgeable and interesting, and he and our driver went above and beyond the call of duty to help us in and out of the van and through difficult terrain. My highest recommendation. It made the trip possible for us.

Very good - The tour is very good, they explain many things, there is time to enjoy and it is enjoyable. In addition to including food and drink, the vest for the cenotes and the ticket office is great.

A brilliant experience - A brilliant day out and the highlight of our holiday. Paco Mac was our tour guide for the day and he was exceptional his knowledge on everything was unquestionable. We were gutted we weren’t allowed to climb Coba as advertised but this was only a minor hiccup. The visit to the Mayan house was extremely interesting and the swim in the cenotaph just topped off a wonderful trip. Highly recommend this tour and if you get the 5 ⭐️ Paco Mac your n fit an absolutely fantastic day.

One of the Best trips - Raul, was the most perfect guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about his country and Historical Mayan facts. Speaking fluent English, made the day so much more enjoyable and Raul has a great sense of humour, lots of fun during the day. Don’t get Raul talking about the Boxing though lol 😂 This was genuinely one of the best trips we have done over the years, top marks to everyone involved including the reps who made it easy to book. Thank you very much, best wishes Gavin & Maria x

Highly recommend this tour! - Highly recommend this tour, our guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and friendly. He created a great atmosphere and provided us with lots of good information. Our driver Manuel was very good too, kept us safe during the trip. They picked us up from out hotel on time and took us to beautiful places. Due to having so many activities, lunch was a little late, around 4 pm, so make sure you grab a snack at Tulum! I would travel with them again!

OK Tour, a little rushed, and some outdated advertisements - This was okay. They did falsely advertise about climbing the pyramid, but from reading comments, it seems that it is something that shut down post covid. Regardless if that is the case, they should update their writing. The tour did feel a bit rushed, I think it would be better to do 1 ruin site and cenote or just the 2 ruin sites. Idk if they have those tour available through the company, but if they do, I would do those instead of this one, since the tour company, in my opinion, was really good. Being rushed is not the tour guides fault either since they are obviously trying to keep up with a schedule, they were awesome Angel and Ramon were super knowledgeable and funny, and the bus driver, I believe Juan Carlos, was super sweet and attentive too. Again, my criticism is not the guides but how rushed everything felt from a tight schedule. I will say the tour would have been 4 stars if not for the false advertising about the pyramid climb as well as the buffet lunch, it was delicious, but not a buffet, instead it was like a 4 course meal but with really tiny portions. I am a little heavier set, so I thought maybe I was just being a glutton for still being hungry, but a lot of people voiced this sentiment in my group. I will give a warning since I saw it mentioned in other comments, yes the cenote is not cleaned off like some other ones in the area my husband and I visited, but they mentioned that this is the cenote is used by the reserve, so it makes sense it's more natural than the cenotes they use for just tourist reasons. Be mindful that because of this reason, the cenote has a lot more algea. I just hope people keep the expectations right since I don't think it's fair to give lower reviews just because the cenote is not purely for tourist purposes, I think that would be a disservice to the tour company and the reserve, if you have a lot of beef with algea water than maybe a different cenote is more for you.

Average Tour - The tour was a bit below average. The bus was 40 minutes late. It would’ve been helpful if they just communicated better via email the exact time of arrival they had so many pick up stops that took over an hour and a half to get to our first destination. The tour guide who spoke English wasn’t the friendliest. We didn’t get to enjoy Tulum as it did rain heavily and we were soaking wet by the time we got back to our meeting point. Coba was OK but from what I’ve heard a lot of the entertainment there changed after Covid. the destinations they took us, for the Cenote wasn’t the greatest. The food was horrible, and the Cenote itself was not how we expected it to be completely in a cave. I know from other friends that went to the Cenote, that they can provide you with towels however this place they didn’t have any, and I’m glad we asked the tour guide if they will give us towels as we didn’t bring any with us, and had to buy the towels from the gift shop in Tulum. I didn’t see anywhere in the itinerary a mention to bring our own towels. Not sure if I did miss it but just felt there was a lack of explanation in general during the tour. The tour guy just provided basic information while rushing it, and leaving us on our own.

Guide exhibited no knowledge of the ruins. - We were picked up on time (from Playa del Carmen and were returned around 18:00). However I was expecting a guide who could explain the ruins to us. Instead our guide told us a lot about his view of Mayan philosophy. This could have been explained in the bus using local guides at Coba and Tulum to give good explanations of the sites. We were somewhat disappointed not to be able to climb the big pyramid at Coba however had this been permitted it would have increased the trip time quite considerably. Prior to lunch we watched a Shaman offer some kind of blessing. It would have been nice to know what he was saying and to have had more explanation on the combination of Roman Catholic and Mayan thinking. The lunch was quite good but nothing like as good as those I have tasted elsewhere in Mexico. Tulum was beautiful; after about twenty minutes we broke off from the tour to look around on our own. We would have needed at least another hour to see it properly and take it all in. Our driver used his mobile phone while driving which is obviously unacceptable. He also drove rather aggressively and showed a complete disregard for speed limits.

My group wished they would have skipped this tour - Not sure exactly which tour we took (we did Tulum, Coba, Cenote with buffet lunch and Playa del Carmen/5th Ave. Not sure what the advertised time was for this trip but we were gone nearly 16 hours - way too long! And even with that, we were rushed through each stop. We had several older folks and it was a long hot walk to even get to the ruins. There were some tour groups that offered a ride at least to the entrance which would have made a huge difference in the enjoyment. One older lady in our group fell HARD and the guide was not very helpful in this situation. We had lunch at 3:30 in the afternoon. The senote seemed WAY out of the way and definitely added hours to our trip. The general consensis from my group was that most would have skipped it if they had known! That was about 16 people just in my group. Thomas, tour guide, did a nice job in between stops talking about the culture but when switching back and forth between english and spanish, his accent was so thick it was hard to know when he was switching...
