Cozumel trip and more - We have just came back from our vacation with a lot of positive emotions about our diving experience with Prodive PADI center. My son got a diver certification and I enjoyed a discover diving. The unforgettable diving was possible due to an amazing PADI team at The Royal Hideaway in playacar, especially due to Jonah and Vero our diver masters who showed us all the skills we need for successful and joyable diving. The are highly professional divers and the biggest enthusiasts of their business. Special thanks to Alex who gave a lot of practical advice and suggestions. Thank you for the beautiful time we spent during our trip to Cozumel.

Great week of diving with an EXCELLENT DIVING CREW, Top Notch ! - I will start with what I didn't like. I tried to reach out a number of times through our hotel. Occidental Excaret, they didn't forward a message. I wanted to make sure my gear was correct, but had to "wing it" because the hotel never forwarded the messages, and even when I reached out to the dive shop directly at the last minute, didn't get a response. All of this was a very minor detail, and no biggie. I got the the resort and met Gumberto, great dude, got me an excellent package. Not sure what to expect I figured I would roll with whatever came about when I got to the dive center. Everything went like clockwork. Bing, bang, boom we were getting gear situated, tanks ready, on the boat and diving. They had a number of dive masters doing different groups of different levels. Only once did we have an issue with people in the wrong group, but that was because of the divers overstating their ability. They immediately rectified the situation on the next tank. This was probably one of the best learning experiences in all of the dive trips I had been on. Every dive master wants to teach you how to be better. Every dive got better because I changed and tried something that they suggested. Watching and trying new things made this an awesome experience. I basically ran out of excuses to not have my Nitrox certification, got it now., should have done it sooner, thanks for pushing me to do it. The dives along the Playa Car coast were good, not great. A couple of really nice reefs, a wreck just out from Royal Hideaway. Dreams offered a couple new sites and we found a newer wreck. Wildlife was beautiful and plentiful. As part of my package we had a day in Cozumel and dove a couple of my favorite sites. The topper was a Cenotes dive. I can tell you that I was with two excellent divers from Germany, and Phil was our dive master. I was unsure because I had never done it, as was one of the other divers. Phil calmed most of our anxiety before we went in. His calming briefings made the first dive awesome. The second was better because of the adjustments, and another calming briefing from him. If you have never done a Cenotes dive, it's an incredible experience, but a great dive master helps. Overall the diving experiences were great. I met some great divers and got into a couple really great dive groups, had some of the best dive masters, and probably met a couple divers that this will not be the last time we dive together, and that made this place special. If I am going to be in an area where Pro Dives have a location, I am definitely booking with them.

Absolutely recommended - My family and I had 10 amazing dives with Pro Dive Mexico, including Cozumel, Cenotes and local dives at Maroma Beach. The excursions were perfectly organized and the dives safely guided.

Amazing 1st ocean open water experience - Let me start by stating, this was my first open water ocean dive since becoming certified. The crew at Pro Dive (out of Catalonia Playa Maroma) were great. Ricardo, our dive guide, was very thorough with our dive plan, double checked our equipment set-up and kept a good eye on me underwater (he helped me with my bouyancy issue in dive 1 - got that dialed in just right for dive 2). We also had two other newbies and the crew made sure we were all taken care of. We saw beautiful coral, a plethora of fish, moray eel, stingray and sea turtle. Went down to 45' and 48' and it was amazing. Tomas, our under water videographer took some amazing photos of my first adventure and compiled a video too. I paid $99 for the video and photos of this 1st experience, although it is not required to purchase.

new family - Diving in Mexico has to be on everyones to-do-list ! since there are many companies you can go to, i decided to recommend THE BEST !… You can go to every company and end up as another customer for sure, but you can dive with pro dive and end up with a whole new family. Ive had 4 amazing dives with them and went on that cenote/lagoon/tulum trip and every trip with them was perfect! I had 2 dives in Cozumel with my lovely instructor Leon (from the base in puerto aventuras) i did my OWD 8 years ago so i had to do the refreshing of course and even THAT was fun with him. Then i had the best 2 dives (in my whole lifetime) with matias (from the base in maroma) at the local reef there, since then i want to dive everyday and i kinda lost my heart somewhere in the ocean. Then i went on that craazy 3in1 trip to a cenote called dos ojos where we went snorkelling in and it was breathtaking, all the stalactites and stalacmites where you can snorkel thorough WOW i loved it. The lagoon in akumal was awesome too, fresh and saltwater is mixing there and all the refelxions with the lighning, it was so nice to look at. Then we had the chance to go to the ruins of tulum to get a little bit of mayan-history. We even got a wonderful lunch at the cenote. So, as you can see, we did maaaany things with them and i loved every activity. Besides the activities i loved the staff too, as i said in the beginning, they are all kinda my family now and i really miss them now (sadfully i had to go home again). Well, my flight back home was 4 days ago and im already looking for my next vacation to dive with them again! Matias, Leon and Gabby, im soo looking forward to meet you guys again and spending some time underwater for sure!! Thank you for every hour youve spend with me, thank you for every laugh, thank you for EVERYTHING, i love you guys!!

Cenotes and Cozumel reefs. Amazing! - I had been looking at all the different dive operators and found this one to be recommended by a lot of people. So I got in contact because I wanted to do a good few dives in the cenotes. Their communication was good and also, they said they would only take us into the cenotes after they had dived with us on the reef. This showed me they take it seriously, so I decided to book with Prodive. Upon arrival, everything was very professional. They have shops in the main hubs like Cozumel and Playa del Carmen and the logistics of it was all very professional (equipment was good, being taken care of, all was planned properly etc). Then came the actual diving in the Cenotes. We had Phil as our guide and he is a great guide. Perfect combination of being serious about diving the cenotes and having fun. Not to mention his buoyancy which is legendary! We had a great time with Phil who not only did a great job guiding, when some other people had a panic, he handled it perfectly and calmly. In fact, we had so much fun diving cenotes with him, we ended up having some food and drinks with him on several occasions afterwards. Greatly enjoyed it and highly recommend Phil as a guide. We also met him again later on on Cozument as he took some clients from Playe del Carmen to Cozumel, where he did a great job making it fun dives on the reefs there too. After our time in Playa del Carmen, we moved on to Cozumel and whilst my friend went home, I did 25 more dives with them on Cozumel. To start with, these reefs are amazing! Nothing like Playa del Carmen, so much more beautiful. Anyway, here too, the organisation at the dive shop was great. All was very professionally organised. Everything was always on time and ready, the staff were very friendly. Angie and her colleagues managed the shop perfectly and it was just a nice place to hang out and be in between dives. The guides/instructors on Cozumel were also great, I had a lot of fun with people like Ignacio and Javier who were fun above the water and also below. They did a great job at checking people's level of diving and adjusting the freedom they would allow according to that. People who needed more help and attention got it, people they knew and were more experienced were checked, but also left more alone to enjoy the diving (within normal limits of course). This is a detail that I greatly appreciated and in addition to this, they tried to make groups based on experience. I would like to thank all of the ProDive staff (including those you didn't get to see so much, but did the lifting, preparing etc) for an amazing time there. Definitely would come back and definitely would recommend diving with them!

Pro Dive at Catalonia Playa Maroma - I am an experienced PADI diver and decided to squeeze in some dives while staying with some friends at the Catalonia Playa Maroma resort. I spent 4 days diving with Pro Dive Catalonia Playa Maroma on April 20th - 23rd. Francesca was my guide the entire time and she was absolutely fantastic. She is an absolute sweetheart and made all the other divers and myself feel very comfortable on all our dives. She has a great customer service attitude and made my dives a wonderful experience. Manuel is the manager and he did everything he could to make the dives interesting and fun. We ran into some bad weather, which was obviously out of his control, but he tried his best to give us some new dive locations. The operation is top notch and very focused on safety. I would highly recommend Pro Dive at Catalonia Playa Maroma. Ask for Francesca!

A Great Beginning for New Divers - My wife and I had our first open-water dives with ProDive and were thrilled with the overall experience. We had 2 dives out of our resort (Catalonia Playa Maroma) which supplied all of the gear we would require for both days, including masks, fins and air, etc. The equipment did it's job, but showed signs of wear and heavy usage. It could be replenished but did not have a negative impact on our dives. After a losing a battle with sea-sickness (small boat, choppy waves) we were off to explore the reefs. Far better than anything we've seen while snorkelling. We found ourselves in schools of different fish and coral gardens, even spotting the occasional Ray fish. The highlight was a huge Tortoise that swam over to check us out, coming so close we could have touched it before it waved us a goodbye and mosied on it's way. We organised our second pair of dives for the reefs of Cozumel, which I highly recommend making any extra effort for. All-inclusive food and drink coverage from our resort was extended along with the day trip and was pretty tasty as a bonus... Do this dive though. Seriously. Huge coral reefs, towering natural structures and so many fish in crystal clear water. Highlights were absolutely everything on this dive, a more stable boat ride and a baby Nurse Shark having a nap. Believe the hype of this place though. See it for yourself. What absolutely made our dives unforgettable, was our dive instructor Rafa. The man is not only knowledgeable but attentive to your every need and so passionate about what he does that it's been hard not just up and quit our jobs join the beach life ourselves... My wife and I love to travel to different places, but a dive with Rafa is a reason to return! We would certainly do another trip booking with ProDive.

Great experience - My husband and I just got our open water certification with Pro Dive at the Catalonia Playa Maroma resort, and the staff were excellent. Our instructor Rapha was absolutely incredible! He clearly loves to dive, and passed on his expertise and enjoyment of the sport to us. The equipment on the other hand is in desperate need of an update. The company should make efforts to supply equipment to the same high standards as the staff they provide.
