Immersion in Mayan culture - Great experience. Very good tour and guide Lalo is an excellent host. His knowledge of Mayan culture and everything he teaches about history is truly outstanding. Very good Service. Recommendations: They should suggest users pre-hydrate before the tour of Chichen Itza because the heat there can be sweltering. I wish I had more time to stay in each place. Very grateful for your attention and Service

Excellent opportunity to visit one of the new seven wonders of the world - A fantastic experience; really liked the buffet lunch and picked up a few things at the shop (possibly a bit over priced but hopefully is more effectively contributing to the local economy than the same from town based places) Chichén Itzá is one of the new seven wonders of the world, good to have a guide and some time to wonder round as a family, really pleased umbrellas were provided - it was hot! The cenote was great to cool off in and get your feet nibbled by the fish you can pay for on 5th Ave in Playa del Carmen… if you don’t like it just keep moving and they won’t. Quick stop off in Valladolid - might need to grab some snacks (it was about three hours back to Playa del Carmen from there). Jose, Alfredo, Hector for the day and Ruth at Chichén Itzá were all very professional and hard working to make the day run smoothly.

Itinerary should be honest and transparent - I will tell you my experience: I booked this tour for the reviews. I checked the itinerary and, taking the transfer times out, it seemed appropriate to say that it should last about 6 hours. But the post said it lasted more than 10 hours, which I found strange because between the published hours of Chichen Itza, in Cenota and Valladolid, it was much less than that, but perhaps they gave more time to visit and walk. I checked the itinerary they had available for this tour and it didn’t make much sense that it would last as long if I just said it was the visits mentioned above. We had them pick us up at the hotel. We were only given the option of 7:30 am. When the time came, they didn't show up, and I contacted them to find out what was going on. They told me we had to leave the hotel so we could go to the bus. That's not allowed in the hotel and it's also not an option we were told before. They told me they weren’t allowed in, but when I asked the hotel concierge, they told me they should just give the room info and it wouldn’t be a problem. I didn't understand the problem. It was already 8:00 am. Then we were going around because the tour started looking for the other people going on the tour. This process lasted until approximately 10:00 am. They changed our bus and we ended up going on the tour around 10:15 am. After this, the tour guide informed us that the tour would return around 10:00 pm. Which we still thought was very strange. From here, we were taken to a craft store in the state of Yucatan. We arrived around 12:00 noon. In this very place we have lunch. And then, we were charged what was missing on the tour when you made the reservation: the remaining tickets, lunch payment and tax. After all this, we went out to the ruins of Chichen Itza. We arrived around 2:00 pm (14:00 hours). We were about 2 hours. Then we went to Cenota Samaal, where we stayed for about 11⁄2 hours. It was already around 5:00 pm (17:00 hours). Then we move to the village of Valladolid. Here we arrived around 5:40 pm (17:40 hours) and were told it was only about 40 minutes available. After this, the bus came back. We finish arriving at almost 10 pm (22:00 hours) at the hotel. I must say that the guides were good, friendly and informative. The good archaeological areas and everything very nice. But I didn't like the logistics they took. I also didn't like that they didn't describe it well on the tripadvisor page. For a tour that was supposed to last 6 hours, they took 4 more to walk us through craft shops that was not what we wanted to see. For young children or older adults I do not recommend this tour. You spend too much time inside the bus.

Good but many unnecessary stops, very long day - The second half of the day was really good! The temple and area surrounding are amazing to see. The tour guide was good, although I wish the guided tour portion was a bit longer with a little more history of the actual sites, rather than general mayan history. The general history was interesting but did not provide immediate context to what we were seeing. The Cenote stop was very welcome, very refreshing and beautiful. However, I personally could have done without the entire first half of the day. The stop off in the mayan village was slow, the actual activity there was a welcome ceremony, some time to shop and a lunch. It ended up being 2+h total, with additional overhead for starting, stopping, a small detour. I would have much preferred it if instead of the free drinks on board, we were given a sandwich and we skipped this part altogether. The food itself was just ok, not worth the stop. Towards the end we stopped at a small town, and at this point we were all tired, and there was not that much to do there. There was a nice park and church, but that's it. Again, not worth the stop. Overall, it's a 2.5h drive to chicen itza. With pickup overhead, 2h at the site, 1h in the cenote, it is a 10h day. it ends up being more like 14-15 h with extra stops that add minimal value to the experience. I enjoyed the day, but it could have been a lot shorter.
