Wonderful Chichen Itza tour! - Such a fun excursion. We went with 2 other families
(6 adults, 7 kids) we prepped the kids it was going to be a long hot day and packed appropriately. I recommend being a few snacks if you have picky eaters. Victor our guide was great! Super friendly and very informative about the sites
. Entertaining too. He was so fluid with his switching from Spanish to English it was amazing. He kept the kids entertained and well hydrated with water and Pepsi. Ceasar the driver was great too. Amazing navigation through tricky parking situations and we felt confident leaving our bags on the bus while exploring Chichen Itza. Lunch was good. Cute shops and all handmade items. A bit spendy but they take credit cards there. The cenote was fun as well. Make sure you bring extra pesos for life jackets and a locker. Life jackets are mandatory and were 65 pesos a person. Lockers were 65 pesos as well. The last stop was the cute town of Valladolid. Bring pesos for the street vendors for street food and snacks before heading out for the day. Overall a great time, what you would expect from this kind of tour. A little more touristy then we normally do as a family, but still very enjoyable.

Chichen Itza - Victor and Cesar took care of us. It is a full day. Senote was great! The little town we stopped in was a blast. Chichen Itza was good, could’ve stayed there 30 min less and added that to the little town or Senote.

Not Worth the Money! - Chichen itza was a must see on our trip to Playa del Carmen. We knew this would be a long day when we booked this. However, we didn't know that "hotel pick up" meant the "milk run" to hotels in Playa del Carmen all the way to Tulum - all after initially being bussed to a central area where we got wristbands and waited for another bus. That was just the first 2 hours of our day! We did not expect 14 hours of mainly Spanish speaking guide, David, who seemed to cater primarily to the Spanish speaking people on the bus. The other half of us were lost as we didn't get much out of the commentary and by the end of the day had pretty much just tuned David out. He didn't make much of an effort for the English speaking people onboard. This was very problematic because I really wanted to learn about the history which is why I booked this tour in the first place. Thank goodness we had a choice at Chichen itza to go on an English or Spanish speaking tour there. Here, our guide was good and we were able to salvage a little bit of our tour with him and actually learned and understood a few things. As mentioned in other reviews a lot of time was wasted in selling trinkets, calendars, or liquor with your picture on it. The Mexican buffet was unimpressive and we had to pay for lemonade that had been poured into recycled water bottles. This cost us $7 USD! There was little time in most of the venues to fully enjoy them and a complete waste of time in the small town of Vallodid as it was nearing dark when we arrived there. I also should mention that at the cenote it was mandatory to rent a life jacket which was not previously disclosed to us when we booked either. I'm pretty sure I contracted a rash on my chest from the dirty life jacket that I used. I noticed that they were just being put back on the hooks and not cleaned after each use. Almost immediately after I removed it, I had itchy, red bumps. My advice is the same as others. Save your money and rent a car and visit these venues at your own leisure.

Overall it was ok - Site was interesting. I was expecting more From the guide. He did the tour 80%spanish, which I speak VERY Little of and 20% english. The Cenote visit should be after Chichén Itza as it was VERY hot there. Food at lunch was excellent. Too many and too long stops at souvenir shops
