Great small group tour - Tour was great, we beat the crowds. Pack light and very lightweight breatheable clothing in May, it was cloudy but very humid. I wanted to stop and buy things in the market, but felt somewhat rushed as we were on a time schedule. I don’t blame them because there’s lots of ground to cover, although I wish we had more time to stop and take photos. Our group was small which was nice. Cenote was really pretty, but the buffet food was alright. There’s a charge for drinks which I totally forgot about so don’t forget.

Very complete excursion - Highly recommended excursion to visit one of the seven wonders of the world, cool off in an impressive semi-open cenote and try very good Mayan food. To finish, visit a Mayan city, being able to climb the main temple of EkBalam. The entire tour includes very detailed and interesting explanations of Mayan life by Carmen. In addition, you can learn words in Mayan.

Chichen Itza + Cenote + Ek’Balam tour - This was a fantastic tour. Both our driver Francisco and our guide Carmen were excellent. Carmen was especially knowledgeable and made the tour fun. We were picked up from our hotel promptly at the time given in advance and they stopped on the way to allow to us to buy coffees/breakfast and use the restroom since it was a 2 and half hour drive to Chichen Itza. We arrived at Chichen Itza soon after they opened and had a wonderful time being guided through the ruins, learning lots of interesting facts and history. Afterwards we went to the Cenote Hubiku which was very refreshing from the heat as we went in May and by midday it was 100 degrees. The lunch buffet there was good but not great, about as expected. Our next stop was Ek’Balam which was nice as there were far fewer people there and you’re allowed to climb on the ruins and get some cool views, however, again it was very hot at the time we went in May. Lots of bottles of water were provided by the tour but I would advise a portable fan to help with the heat. It is a full day tour as we were picked up from our hotel at 6am and arrived back at about 7pm. Overall I’d highly recommend this tour.

Step into the world of the Mayan civilization - This is a semi private trip to the archaeological sites. Carmen provides a lot of information to understand the Mayan way of thinking and once you walk out of the heavy heat to the car, Francisco is ready with a bottle of water. Be sure to take a dip in the cool cenote for a magical moment. And then climb onto one of the temples of Ek Balam. Please note that if you are not used to the warm weather, this can be intensive, so make sure you wear comfortable running shoes and a hat. Organization top, communication and agreements very good! Highly recommended.

The best thing to do in the Yucatan by far - This tour was absolutely amazing and easily the highlight of coming to the Yucatan. Carmen was incredibly sweet and a wealth of information. I'm so glad we chose to go with a knowledgeable tour guide instead of on our own as it made the experience 10 times better. Our driver, Francisco, was a sweetheart as well and incredibly kind. It's a jam packed day and we ended pretty tired, but it was well worth it. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting the Yucatan.

Highlight of our trip! - We wanted a relaxing beach vacation without many excursions and things to do, but I am SO glad I booked this tour, it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! Learning about both modern and ancient Mayan culture from our guide Carmen deepened our knowledge and appreciation for this area and its indigenous people. The skill and intelligence of the ancient Mayans is difficult to even comprehend. What an incredible civilization! Chichen-Itza was definitely hot, so wear your sunscreen, take a hat, and wear comfortable shoes. Carmen was great about always finding a shady spot for us to rest in. We do wish we had brought our own insulated water bottles into Chichen. The tour provides water bottles from an ice chest, but the warm up fast in that heat! The Cenote was incredible! We only wish we had longer there, but alas it was a very long day as it was. Lunch buffet was delicious as well. As other reviewers mentioned, Ek Balam was very fascinating as well and nearly empty compared to the crowds of Chichén. Take this tour, you will be happy you did!

Just our bad luck 🙄 - Notice how all the reviews with 5 stars mention Carmen? Well, we ended up not getting Carmen (not her fault!) and the tour ended up pretty terribly for us. The replacement they were able to bring in was not great. Like at all. We couldn’t hear what he was saying at most times due to a mask he was wearing (in April 2024), and when we did, it turned out he was repeating the same stories. It was SO bad at one point that most of us started to listening to the other tour guides around. It was a long day, and the loud chatter of his on the bus was annoying to say the least. I know for a fact that this guide was not their usual go-to. I really wish the owner/operator had told us about Carmen not able to come, and maybe reschedule our tour instead of pushing us onto this guide who was not tried, or tested.
