Nice experience in small numbers - A thoughtful captain who takes the time to appreciate the Pilot Whale we have had the opportunity to observe in numbers. He answered all our questions and gave us a lot of information.
We were lucky to have the boat only for ourselves.
Very good value for money

Wonderful day at sea - We had a wonderful experience sailing with Galatea Sailing in Tenerife. The online booking process was smooth and easy, and communication beforehand was very good. They even arranged special‑diet snacks for us after we asked in advance, which felt very thoughtful.
Our captain was fantastic—polite, informative, funny, and wonderfully patient and it made the whole trip even more memorable.
One small tip for future travelers: the sea can get quite rocky at times, so taking seasickness pills beforehand is a good idea.
All in all, a beautiful day on the water with great service from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tenerife who wants a relaxed and enjoyable sailing adventure.

Magical Experience - Jeanette from the kiosk was absolutely amazing when we booked this tour. Stumbled across it by accident and she looked after us, as she promised, from start to finish. The boat trip itself was magical and we saw loads of pilot whales in their natural habitat and the crew were 100% respectful of that. Beer included and a tasty snack after a swim. Fabulous Highly recommend.

Disappointed - My original booking was changed the day before as work needs to be done on the Galatea. I was moved to the Nomado instead and it was described as an 'upgrade'.
The yacht was uncomfortable to say the least. We saw very little wildlife which I know is not guaranteed. There was a promise of sandwiches and drinks for everyone! This comprised of one small sandwich for each person and one drink. Not value for money in my opinion. If this was an upgrade it sorely disappointed 😞

Disappointing - Rather disappointing.... It’s a sailboat, but it only works with the engine.... We saw some pilot whales, it was nice, but the captain was as mute as a carp.... While we expected some tourist comments, at least cheerful, we had a heavy silence.... He does his job... nothing more! Not up to a family excursion with children

Sadly very disappointing - I just want to start off by saying that I understand we did not have the best weather conditions, and I do love that the captain was respectful of the whales, BUT - Overall the entire experience was lacking, and we all left really disappointed.
To start with, the welcome was not the friendly, warm experience we were expecting, but so be it... As the trip commenced, the captain gave a few bits of information, nothing massively informative to be honest, and his English wasn't the best so it was rather difficult to understand. Alongside the 5 English people. there was an Italian couple, one of whom spoke Spanish, and the captain spent pretty much the entire trip chatting away with them and leaving us just sat there looking out to sea. It felt very much like he was only interested in them, and we were left twiddling our thumbs.
In reality we sailed for an hour or so to where there were many boats moored up whale watching. The captain kept his distance way back, further from any others, which I respect completely, but he pointed at 2 very distant whale fins, as good as said 'there you are, they are stressed, we will leave' and that was that. No looking out for anything else, no pointing out any of the birds or other wildlife. I appreciate if the whales are stressed we should not have gone closer but we were a massive distance away and I simply do not think it would have hurt to stay there 5 minutes to see if we saw another distant fin - I mean it was SO distant, you could barely see it so we were not a bother to them just sitting there for a few minutes.
We then sailed on to the bay where we could go swimming, however, as soon as we arrived we were bluntly informed that as the weather was not perfect, there would be no fish. In other words, no point snorkelling and he didn't even offer any equipment. By then I think he had lost us and the other English people on board. We were quite clearly all bored and ready to just get back and try and salvage the day.
Basic lunch of crisps and sandwiches, but that wasn't what we went for so that was fine by us.
Overall, I feel massively let down after doing my research before we travelled and really expecting a knowledge filled trip with lots of information and hopefully a chance to see something. Really, it was just a 2.5 hour boat trip with a lot of sea to look at, and returning to shore was the best bit.
