A prominent distillery, Wigle Whiskey, effectively revived Pittsburgh’s whiskey heritage. With two nominations for the prestigious James Beard Semi-Finals and five successive years being the most celebrated craft whiskey distillery by the American Craft Spirits Association, a visit to Wigle is an absolute must when in Pittsburgh.
Every Saturday, participate in a tour and tasting session conducted by the Distillery’s team. You’ll learn about their transformation of organic, local grain into award-winning Rye and Bourbon Whiskey, Gin, Rum, and several other spirits. During the tour, you’ll also be entertained with the unique story of the Pittsburgh’s Whiskey Rebellion, a rather unusual yet crucial event in the country’s history. The tour features an overview of their distillation process, a retelling of the Whiskey Rebellion from the perspective of their eponymous Philip Wigle, and a seated tasting of unblended spirits.
The tour extends over an hour and the headcount is kept minimal to ensure a great experience for all attendees.

Fun times jn Pittsburgh - We had a fun time at the chocolate wine and whiskey event then took the incline to the top of a big hill with all the restaurants had a fabulous meal with a good view. I was surprised how clean Pittsburgh was the Marriott we stayed at across from the pirate stadium was absolutely wonderful the people were exceptional. The big benefit was the free bus to the casino and to the incline etc I will definitely go back to the Marriot again

Good Tour, Bourbon, and Food - Tour was a lot of fun and enjoyed the tastings. Good variety of different bourbons and other liquors that they produce. Also had lunch and the food was excellent! My luggage was overweight at the airport returning home due to all the bourbon in it, lol.

Fun tiur with good drinks! - Our tour was very large and so much fun! Our tour guide was informative and funny. The whole experience was fantastic. Next time we will definitely try out the food.

Great tasting and delicious food, knowledgeable guide and history - We learned so much about regional history and the whiskey rebellion as well as the evolution of whiskey and the the process that goes into making it. We got to sample some delicious cocktails as well as sampling a variety of their spirits and liquors. I especially enjoyed the cinnamon spirit (I love fireball, but I liked this better!) and the coffee liquor. We went early and ate lunch at their restaurant and really enjoyed the lox and the pork chop. Our waiter and our tour guide were both excellent! Thanks!

Wigle with Delight 😊 - Fun stories of the history on The Whiskey Rebellion. Hearing about the dark side of George Washington was fascinating. We had one individual who does not drink and she enjoyed the experience. The restaurant food was fabulous.
