We start in your training are with a safety briefing. We provide you with helmets, goggle, gloves, bottled water and candy bars. You will have a chance to drive our training trail with our guide keeping a close eye on you to make sure you are comfortable. Our ATV’s are automatic and easy to operate. Great for the experienced driver, as well as first time drivers. Then our 3 hour tour begins thru the mountains and into the canyon. We will make frequent stops for photos and snacks. The Phoenix/Tucson Box Canyon Tour is located in Florence, AZ, conveniently situated between Tucson and Phoenix on State Route 79. The drive from either city takes approximately 1.5 hours.

The trail spans about 34 miles and takes around 3.25 hours to complete. Participants will experience an elevation change of over 1500 vertical feet as they ascend and descend the front range of the Pinal Mountains.

During the tour, guides will highlight Indian petroglyphs created by ancient Native Americans. Another point of interest is an old adobe building that once served as a way station for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860s, known as the “Butterfield Express.” The true highlight of the tour is Box Canyon.

The central 3 miles feature a slot canyon with walls towering approximately 1500 feet high on both sides, narrowing to just 15-20 feet apart in some areas. The views are breathtaking!

• Guests must driver to meet our guide(s) at the Trail head directly for start of tour - there is not a physical address but the nearest physical address is: River Bottom Grill 2501 N HWY 79, Florence, AZ 85132. Then the meeting place is on Price Stanton Rd which is nearby and once they turn onto Price it’s about 3/4 of a mile on the right side of the road.
