The route we navigate is approximately 34 miles long and lasts about 3.25 hours. The tour involves a climb and descent of over 1500 vertical feet as we traverse the forefront of the Pinal Mountains. During the journey, your guide will highlight Indian rock art remnants of the ancient Native Americans. A noteworthy landmark is an old adobe structure that was a stopover for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860’s Express, referred to as the “Butterfield. The standout feature of the tour is Box Canyon.
The central 3 miles is a narrow canyon bounded by walls reaching 1500 feet high on both sides and are sometimes as narrow as 15-20 feet apart. The surrounding views are breathtaking!

Absolutely amazing time with awesome tour guide - This is an absolutely do not miss excursion! Bill was so nice and made the trip incredibly fun! He also shared knowledge and awesome stories that brought the activity to life. My friend and I were even running late from the airport after our flight came in late and ATV adventures waited for us which was incredibly considerate given we were late. Bill made us feel comfortable before riding with his training and the tour itself was breathtakingly beautiful and also exhilarating. I can’t rave enough about how fun this was and how it made our trip to AZ that much better! Definitely recommend!

Awesome ride - We wanted to experience an ATV ride in Sedona AZ but upon searching the locations, we found this tour close to Gilbert AZ, which is where our daughter lives. I booked the tour for 6 people in my family. When we arrived at the location, there were a couple in our tour group as well. So there were just 4 ATVs in our tour group plus the tour guide's ATV. It felt like a private tour for us. The location was kind of hard to find in the GPS but they are good at giving directions. The guide taught us how to handle the ATV and we were allowed to practice in a small area first. After 15 minutes, we went straight to the Box Canyon. The canyon view was so awesome. At times w had to ride through uneven rocky trails, which is what the ATV is supposed to perform in these rough conditions. The ride was very dusty, so the guide gave us bandanas to cover our faces (which we got to keep). Overall, I really recommend this tour if you're visiting Phoenix.

Fun Desert ATV Ride - We did the Box Canyon, ATV tour and Ray was our tour guide. As it turned out it was just the 3 of us and Ray, so it turned out to be a private tour. After a quick overview of how to operate the 4 wheelers we were off. We were on paved roads for about 2 miles then off road. Total tour was a little bit over 30 miles. The trails were easy to navigate and the 4 wheelers easy to operate. We saw lots of wildlife, sticky plants and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend the tour.

ATV Adventure - First Time Fun Experience - Ray was our ATV tour guide. He was from where we lived back home, so we were very comfortable riding with him. We also had a lot of fun on our ride with him. He was informative in the information he shared. Beautiful scenery of the desert and in Box Canyon. Liked seeing butterflies in canyon as well as surprised to see free roaming cattle with horns and one had a baby calf. Note there are no bathrooms on the ride. One thing we learned is to watch for wildlife in the desert when not from AZ for you don't think about what you may run across even in the daytime. So always be cautious for snakes, scorpions, etc., for they are out there. He kept a look out for these being first but told us to keep our eyes open too. We sure hope our tour guide Ray is okay from our ride and continues to remain safe. Thanks so much for an awesome ride. We definitely want to do again on another visit and also check out the Sedona ATV tour too. Hopefully we can get Ray as a tour guide again.

Florence, AZ Box Canyon ATV Tour with Ray June, 2023 - The ATV Adventure Tour of the Florence, AZ Box Canyon / Slot Canyon was a super adventure and an overall great experience. We felt lucky to have Ray as our guide and tour leader. He's experienced, knowledgeable about the countryside & the machines. First up was explanation of how to safely operate the big 4x4's, then a slow test run to check out our skill level. When all was OK we hit the road for the Canyon. Road on a paved road for a few miles then began on rough unpaved country roads. Passed thru beautiful countryside full of Saguaro's and Mesquite on either side of the road. The mountains looked like a long distance away when we started, but they quickly came closer. The roads got bumpier as we progressed, but we followed Ray and all was well. He stopped for a "trip status check up" by a giant Saguaro with 40 protruding arms & we drank some cold water from the ice chest that he had thought to have handy for us - Thanks! Then we headed into the Box Canyon / Slot Canyon as the mountains opened up for us. So different to be riding in a narrow canyon with 100++ foot side walls. Lots of vegetation in different spots. The roadway weave through the canyon and there bumps and dips and plenty of fun riding there. Couple of tough spots with boulder riding but we followed Ray and made it fine. Stopped at an old Butterfield Stage line deserted station and walked around to explore a bit. Another stop to admire ancient Indian petroglyphs and had Ray to explain them to us. Then turned around and headed back thru the canyon, then countryside, then to the original meeting spot. We were provided Gloves, Helmet and Bandana, for the dust. Splendid experience!!! You Should Do It .....

Beautiful day. - The forecast was for a very hot day which may have scared people off. This was to my benefit because I had the guide (Bill) to myself. It was a glorious day and I saw beautiful scenery. The ATV was great fun to drive.
