Top tier experience - My partner and I were picked up by Darren from our hotel, and we headed over to the campsite ran by Craig in close proximity to Pilanesberg. The setup was basic with a very rustic feel - it was good for the soul to get immersed in nature and just switch off from our everyday lives. There was also less basic accommodation available, but we wanted the authentic African camping experience. Darren also took us to Sterkfontein caves, which was incredible to learn about and explore. The entire experience was absolutely one in a million; I can’t thank them enough for a tour that I will never forget. We were made to feel so welcome - I’m definitely planning on returning some day. Darren is friendly and professional, with a real fountain of knowledge. Thank you for a brilliant holiday

Outstanding Camping safari yet again - This is the second tour I have booked with South Africa adventures to the Pilanesberg. I once again opted for the camping option. Great value for money and a proper safari and tented adventure the way South Africans do it. Lots of animals here seen on the safari drive. Hundreds of elephants and zebra.

I would go again! - It was absolutely amazing. We got to have a private tour the first day. Our guides were amazing. We went in the dead of winter in SA but the tent was like glamping. Just make sure you bring warm clothes for the nights. We got so close to wildlife. It was truly amazing. They have real bathrooms and showers at the camp site. Even the food they made at the campsite was terrific.

great way to experience authentic low cost safari - great way to experience a real south african safari!!! We spent 2 days in the pilanesberg with the team at south africa adventures. We opted for the tented camping option. We loved it. Sleeping in tents and siting around a fire in the night with good people is exactly what we wanted. We got to see many animals on the safari in the pilanesberg with our dedicated ranger. The group was small which we also liked. Great value for money. Everything was included from transfers from johannesburg, meals, safari and drinks. Loved every minute of it

Best of Africa - We visited Pilanesberg North West part of South Africa. We camped there for two days , we took on a lot of fun activities with the boys(two teenagers). The place has a sense connecting things, we have special moments from the trip ,that will cherish for the rest of our lives. So much animals to see ,lions , cheetahs , buffalos , rhinos etc. Very beautiful sights. A special thanks again to our extensively thoughtful tour guide.

A Great Adventure - Darren, the owner drove me around on this safari. Darren is very knowledgeable about the wildlife. While driving with the windows down, Darren will detect their scent before you will, but once he mentions it, you will notice the scent yourself. By the scent, Darren will know what wildlife is in the area. I got to see four of the big five animals, plus many others. The only one I missed but was the leopard, but of course, nothing can every be guaranteed with wildlife in the wild unlike a zoo where it is always guaranteed. Craig who owns the campsite is very friendly and makes a good dinner and breakfast. We had lunch twice in the center of the park. The first day we watched the lionesses catch a warthog from our table overlooking the watering hole. The second day I tried the ostrich burger and found it was very good. I come to South Africa for an annual conference and will Darren's South Africa Adventures for very trip and will be recommending South Africa Adventures to other conference goers.

Disappointing - Very disappointed. The guide showed up late ina van not in a proper safari vehicle. We spent the first day from 10 am - 3 pm trying to peek out little wndows and sharing a small portal for photos. At 3pm we finally transferred to a safari vehicle operated by a different company. These guides were excellent and we had a very good safari until 7 pm. At 7 pm we met the guy in the van again and he proceeded to leave the park and a half-hour later re-entered the park at an empty park-managed campsite. We had dinner in an empty restaurant with about 1/2 the menu available. No campfire. Then he said he had booked a chalet. We saw it and returned to the hotel.I had expected a "real" safari, camping in the bush, dinner around a camp fire and was aexcirted for months. This trip is not as advertised. The company is just a travel agency booking stuff. You're better off just booking a safari with the park itself.
