Very enjoyable trip - Lots to see and learn on the trip. Our guide, Kim, was very knowledgable and personal. Make sure you know the name of the boat as there are many at the river. There was a gang plank to get off and on the boat on the island.

Fascinating experience - We had a really interesting morning, learning about the whole process of silk making from end-to-end. There were only four people on our tour, which was a nice number. Our tour guide spoke excellent English and made sure we understood everything she was explaining. It was fabulous to see the ladies at work on the looms too. We had a little wander around the village, although the description of the tour sounds like it’s a bit more than it is.

A must see if you’re in Phnom Penh!! - This was an amazing trip!! I went with two friends and the tour guide was so friendly and helpful - she pointed out significant sites as we sailed across the river and answered all our questions. Silk island was beautiful and the tour guide, who is a local in the silk community, explained the whole process of silk production and was very engaging. 10/10 experience, would recommend.

Nice boat tour on the Mekong river - Nice boat trip on the Mekong river to Silk island, you can see the village (by tuk tuk) and get information about the silk production. Our tour guide, Mr Vy (or maybe Wee, not sure about the spelling) was great and could give us many useful informations about Silk island, since he lives and works there; we had lots of fun on the boat trip and got some free fruit and snacks. I booked the afternoon tour but it was very hot, the morning tour might be a better option.

Could do better, but interesting. - Silk-making process is interesting and guide was knowledgeable. Boat location was hard to find, with no welcome or information onboard. Silk products are much cheaper in the central market.

Tuk Tuk Tour - Unfortunately I was informed only the day before that the boat was out of action and a tuk tuk driver would take me instead. I was quite disappointed as this part of the trip was a major reason for choosing the tour but not sure I would have got a refund as it was less than 24 hours before departure. No refund or reduc tion of cost was offered. As I was the only one on the tour I was a little sceptical as to whether the boat needed repairs or whether it was an economic decision to employ a tuk tuk driver. Having said this, Silk Island was interesting and I now have an appreciation for the work involved in hand made silk after visiting the Silk Community.
