Perfect solo tour! - Wow! What can i say?! Marty was the BEST guide! I arrived at the waiting point and Marty arrived promptly and informed me that I’d be the only one in the tour, invited me to sit upfront and off we went! Marty was brilliant, he shared many interesting facts not only about the Amish but Philly as we drove out the city. We also chatted like old friends since i ended up in a private tour! We made plenty of stops and Marty interacted with the local Amish who it’s clear he has a great relationship with! There’s no pressure to buy any thing from any one even though you’re visiting businesses. He kept checking in with me making sure i was enjoying it and offered to tailor the tour to my needs and wants. We stopped for a lunch which was recommended and was lovely! The day was amazing, highlights include holding some puppies, interesting with Marty and the Amish and my extra bonus tour of some of the street art in Philly. Marty truly was the best and I couldn’t fault this experience! Don’t hesitate to book this tour, it really made my experience of Pennsylvania the most exception!

Amish day adventure - We had a wonderful trip out to Lancaster, PA with James. We had the opportunity to learn and visit the Amish Village and museum plus there was time to see a woodworkers toy shop and sample some cheese. We also had time with a leathersmith and interacted with critters. Lot's of scenery to take in.

A delight for sure! - First and foremost Marty was an amazing tour guide! He clearly knew a great deal about the Amish. Moreover, I was concerned we might be a bit looky loo in this tour and that was absolutely not the case. Marty had the greatest respect for the people and the community. That came through in the relationships that he has established with people and all of his narrative throughout the day. He shared general information and was able to answer most of our questions ranging from the general to the specific. If he didn’t know, he was able to direct us to someone who might have more information and they generally did. The tour van was neat and clean and he did an excellent job navigating us around safely. He gave us options that tailored the trip to our specific interests within a frame of choices and we had a wonderful lunch at Bird in Hand! We had hoped to get a general understanding of what guides the Amish community at their core and we walked away with that and more. Dick was shadowing and he had a ton of information that really added to the general fun and opportunity to learn throughout the trip. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough to you if you’re interested in learning about the Amish. Be forewarned that your interactions are going to be through businesses as that’s the respectful way to meet Amish people, so if that is going to be off putting for you, this may not be the tour for you. If you want an opportunity to respectfully observe, interact with, and converse with an amazing person like Marty to expand your knowledge, all while having fun, then this is the tour for you!

Amish Lancaster County - Went on this tour at the beginning of January and was fortunate that it ended up as a private tour as the only couple on that day. Adam was our guide and did a tremendous job showing us around, sharing knowledge of the Amish. If you want to capture a glimpse of the Amish people and what they are all about I highly recommend the tour.

Great tour! Lancaster... - Great tour! Lancaster County is very close to Phiadelphia. We’ve spent some hours learning about the history of the Amish, their beliefs and community life, visited some of the stores run by them and tried some of the delicious products they sell, especially cheese and ice-cream. Marty was a very nice guide, punctual, well-informed and ready to answer to the groups’ questions. I highly recommend this tour!

A day in Amish community - James is a great tour guide bringing his past teaching and research career in history. He talks a lot about the historical and cultural aspects of the life of Amish communities in PA. The tour goes to the main tourist attractions and shops in the community. One thing to note - the lunch you will have in the tour will be pretty big. I would recommend not to have a big breakfast in the morning to fully enjoy the lunch.
