Embark on an intriguing journey through Philadelphia’s mural-rich areas in an extraordinary manner. Relish the Segway journey led by a knowledgeable local guide through some of Philly’s most culturally vibrant communities. Discover the past and continuing impact of the Mural Arts Program, and witness over 20 murals during your distinctive Segway expedition. You’ll receive Segway operation training prior to the tour, and your guide will photograph the experience, sending you the images at no extra cost when the tour concludes.

  • TOUR REQUIREMENTS*
  • All riders must wear a helmet (your own or provided by Philly by Segway).
  • All riders must bring valid identification.
  • All riders must read and sign a waiver of liability.
  • Segway riders must be 12-years-old or older. If a rider is under 18, they must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult who can sign the waiver form.
  • All riders must weigh between 100lbs - 300lbs.
  • All riders must complete Segway training to their guide’s satisfaction.
  • RECOMMENDED ATTIRE*
  • Please keep in mind that you will be standing for the duration of your tour - these recommendations are for your comfort and safety:
  • Wear comfortable but not loose clothing.
  • Wear secure, flat, comfortable shoes, preferably close-toed sneakers or athletic shoes. Flip-flops, high heels, or wedges are not appropriate.
  • DRESS FOR THE WEATHER - we ride rain or shine. If it is a cold day, dress as if you are going skiing (gloves, hat, coat, etc.). If it is a hot, sunny day, wear sunscreen, bring sunglasses, and a water bottle. You will be outside for the duration of your tour.
  • YOUR TOUR*
  • Please arrive early. We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
  • After you check in, there will be a 30 minute training session including an instructional video. You must complete this training to your guide’s satisfaction - even if you’ve ridden a Segway before.
  • Once everyone is trained and feels confident riding a Segway, we start the tour!

Fun and informative - Awesome tour, even for first timers on a Segway. D made sure we were comfortable. His directions were supportive and clear. He shared the history and significance of the murals along the way. He gave us the best suggestion for gluten free cheese steaks after our tour. This was a fun morning and I would definitely do it again

Glad I went! - James did an excellent job leading the mural tour. He was very well versed in the history and culture of the city. James explained what the murals were about, artists, and history. It was a great pace with well timed breaks to walk around and check out the location. He took pictures and sent them to us so we could enjoy the tour.

When you visit Philadelphia...DO THIS!!!! You will be glad. - A wholly amazing tour!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! D., our tour guide was an excellent instructor, ensuring we were all well qualified and comfortable operating the Segway before we ventured out into Philadelphia. D. brought the Philadelphia Murals to life, providing us the background of the murals in Philadelphia, detailing information regarding the artists, and the stories behind the murals. At the same time D. ensured all of us were safe as we made our way all over Philadelphia! D. also, all along the tour, took pictures of each family or group as the tour progressed. At the end, D. provided each family or group their pictures. We will cherish our pictures (in fact we've created a collage of our Philadelphia visit in which D.'s pictures play a large role, providing us wonderful memories and a fantastic experience).

Spectacular Tour - Our tour was fabulous. So many beautiful murals with stories about Philadelphia weaved through them. D was a knowledgeable and kind guide. Having never ridden a Segway, he was able to get us going and lead us through some tricky areas in town perfectly. Even someone like me that only knows how to ride a bike can do it!

Fabulous tour! - We went on a Mural tour with Barry and he was a fantastic tour guide. He had been a participant of the Mural Arts program, and had an intimate knowledge of the murals and their history. I couldn't imagine a better tour guide! We went in celebration of my husband's birthday, and it was great way to spend the morning! We learned a lot about Philadelphia, the mural program, and the artwork we saw on the tour. Thanks, Barry!

Philly by Segway - Yesterday "Barry" led five of us ladies on a Segway tour of the Phila. murals. I can't say enough good things about this adventure. Barry was attentive and patient with us as he taught us how to ride our Segway and took great care of us once we were on the road. Aside from his expert knowledge of the murals he offered many interesting facts about the city. Looking forward to booking another Segway tour and will definitely request Barry. You should try this - its great fun !

pouring rain still no refund - When we arrived for the tour it was raining out. It was actually pouring. We made the decision not to do the tour in the rain and were told that the only time a tour is cancelled is if there is thunder and lightning. Even though there was no thunder and lightning, we did not feel SAFE using the segways in the rain and a.so knew this would not be a pleasant experience. We were told that we could reschedule this tour. But we are from out of town and it is not easy for us to come back. After we left our decision was confirmed as it continued to rain heavily. We called the place later in the day to see if the tour we on and they claimed it did. I don’t see how and I would really like a refund. Our booking reference number is 662183989.
