Fabulous day with Rafa - An enjoyable day with our wonderful guide Rafa, who had to speak three languages. He was very knowledgeable about Petropolis. We saw a palace, museum, cathedral, brewery etc.

Great Tour...Horrible Driver - The entire experience was amazing. I especially loved the Royal Imperial Museum. If you are ever in Brazil, you MUST visit Petropolis. It is stunningly beautiful. My only complaint is that the van driver was not a great driver. The ride to and from there was uncomfortable. I have issues with pain and the crazy driving did a number on my back. I had to get a massage the next day.

Outstanding customer care - Great tour, well worth every penny. Guide Eva and driver Coutinho were outstanding, very caring about every client and going above and beyond the job description. Plan on trip being longer than described. It’s a long day but very informative. I do recommend it

Great trip, lots of history. - Well worth the money. Our guide mama Chris was a wealth of knowledge. The imperial palace was beautiful. I would definitely add on the brewery tour especially if you like beer. It is a rather long day so be prepared. Mama Chris will do everything to make your trip enjoyable and point out absolutely everything you need to know.

Touch of Europe in Rio - It was the visit to the town of Petropolis as a whole and the Bohemia Brewery visit. The final stop at Katz chocolate leaves a sweet taste.

History in a Day - I had a great time at the Petropolis, plus exploring the Brewery. It was an awesome day exploring the history of Brazil and my tour guide was awesome, speaking three different languages but making sure me and friend who speak English understood what was going on as well. He was kind and patient. We had a great day and I will definitely recommend this tour to my other friends going to Rio in the future.

Mixed feelings - This was hard one to rate. The tour itself is great, I really enjoyed that very much. Very interesting, and you get to see some great historical stuff. The bad part however is the transport they use. The Mercedes Sprinter mini bus that was used was horrible. The shocks of the vehicle are completely worn and it felt like riding in a horse cart on a pebble road. Everything inside the bus rattled too. This bus needs replacement or to be repaired. You should not transport tourists in a vehicle that is in such a bad condition, especially driving through a mountain pass. The advertisement also states entry/admission to Quitandinha Palace Congress and Convention Center. We only stopped far away for photos and did not enter. Don’t false advertise! The tour language is done in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Just unfortunate that almost no English was spoken as there were only 2 of us. The other languages had detailed explanations about areas and places.

Never book this tour. - We got picked up at 7 am, drive and picked up other passengers in a van that didn’t speak English, picked up a (friend in a fevella )of the driver, stopped for him to get breakfast, then after 2 hours dropped us off at another van to pick up more people for another hour. The drive from one point to another is around 18 minutes total. After 3 hours in a van, we drove another hour to a gas station where we could buy a water. We stayed there for 20 minutes for some reason and then proceeded up the hill. The tour was split English and Portuguese which which was fine, but obviously not all information was passed the same. Many laughs from the Portuguese passengers and very few of any from the English speaking crowd. We saw a few sights, but certainly not worth the 13.5 hours we were trapped on this tour. Some stops were not listed in the itinerary and were a waste of time. We took an Uber home as the 13.5 hours didn’t include what would have likely been another hour and a half. Also don’t get the included lunch it was disgusting. Power went out twice and it was a badly executed golden coral. Food is great in Brazil, but not here.
