Authentic Experience on an Olive Farm - More than just an olive oil tour, this is a chance to slow down and experience a bit of everyday life on the olive farm and in the surrounding village. We walked through shaded groves, past honey bee hives (and got to taste some of the local honey), stopped in a shop or two, visited a local olive press, learned how they make soap from the oils and ended with a beautiful mezza and olive oil tasting under the shade trees. Wonderful products as well, which make terrific gifts. Highly recommend you spend an afternoon taking this wonderful walking tour.

I can’t believe this tour isn’t higher up the list of things to do! - Private tour for €50 approx- amazing! Pick up at hotel. Not too early either. Around 10am. Jonathan speaks English which makes things easier for English speakers. The tour was of a very high standard, I leant all about what to look for in good olive oil. There’s no hard sell, Jonathan owns the olive grove and press. His family make olive oil soap and have done so for generations. The views were magnificent as we travelled the short distance to the grove. Finishing off with local hand made mezze food and an oil tasting. Guys- do not miss this-non commercial, 5* tour.

A must do tour for anyone visiting Corfu! You’ll never look at olive oil the same way again. - Fabulous tour! Jonathan is very knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about his olives. We learnt so much about olives and Corfu in general. The tour far exceeded our expectations. Such a beautiful location and we were treated to olive oil tasting and a delicious mezze to finish the tour. A handout with some key points would have been really handy as a reminder of what to look for and what to avoid when buying olive oil.

Great moment spent with Jonathan! - The tour is very informative, you can feel Jonathan’s will to preserve the heritage of the olive culture in Corfu. You will definitely learn some information on olive oil, its processing and its marketing. He gave us many useful advices to identify quality olive oil. We also had the occasion to visit a local honey producer, where we were showed to a glass bee hive. If you are looking for an authentic experience in Corfu, as well as an opportunity to learn more about the region and it’s evolution, don’t hesitate to follow Jonathan on a tour!

Great value for money - A wonderful morning spent with Jonathon, who is passionate about his olive trees, his culture and his community. We were staying quite close by in North Corfu, but would happily have driven much further for this unique experience. Not only did we learn a lot about olive oil (I will never view the bottles in Tesco's in quite the same way!), but we also learnt so much about the history of the island and its people. Jonathon is extremely knowledgeable and his engaging manner kept our group, of teenagers to pensioners, interested over several hours. We finished with an exquisite outdoor lunch sampling the local cuisine. Great value for money!

A highly enjoyably day with an honest owner-lead tour, no temporary seasonal staff, no hard sell, no superficial fluff. - Elaion Private Tours with your host Johnathon offers a wonderful opportunity to learn from a genuinely knowledgable & passionate local resident (yes, with a name like that!). Helping to run a small family business (Corfu Soap Workshop, Roda) is tough. Leaving that to start your own enterprise, is tough. Enjoying your tour with Johnathon however is easy and memorable. You are with someone that clearly cares for the people and environment around him. We visited at the request of our daughter for her 16th birthday ‘treat’. After our 2 week holiday, the tour was voted by her 80yo grandmother (and others in the group) as her favourite part of our stay in Corfu and she, in her words ‘hates the taste of Olives’! Lots to learn about the island’s history, the culture, and of course the production of olive oil. In near 40degrees heat, Johnathon made sure everyone had water, took regular stops in the shade for information, and kept the attention of all from 16 to 80 in age, over several hours. The tour culminated with some generous tastings, in a wonderful setting, and more information, conversation, and stories. An honest owner-lead tour, no temporary seasonal staff, no hard sell, no superficial fluff. A great value tour, with an altogether good bloke. Incidentally during the horrible ‘wild-fires’ that followed, he took to the hills later the same week to help the fire fighters save lives, property and livelihoods in the ancient villages we went through and I hope you will still get to visit on your Elaion Private Tour.
