Highlights
  • Peggy’s Cove - Come and see one of Canada’s most visited places!\n\nYour half day ashore starts with a popular excursion through Halifax, it is the biggest city east of Montreal and the capital of Nova Scotia. Halifax was founded in 1749 to protect British interests in North America. The area is steeped in maritime history and some of the great highlights you will see include the Grand Parade Square and the central square of the original town. Canada’s oldest Anglican Church St. Paul’s church, is located in the square.\n\nFrom here we visit West Dover, a small fishing community with a population of just 275 people offering a fascinating and remarkable setting. Then we head along the beautiful coastal road to Peggy’s Cove. As soon as you arrive you will be enchanted by the lighthouse located on the edge of the ocean and the quaint fishing village, Peggy’s Cove attracts thousands of visitors each year. Nestled on the rocky shoreline of St. Margaret’s Bay, the area offers stunning, world-renowned scenery.\n\nDuring your tour here we get to view the Devonian Granite Rock Formations , these influenced they way the landscape around Peggy’s Cove was created. Boulders that seem to grow out of the fields of moss and shrubs are a gigantic 350- to 415-million-year-old. They were scattered by retreating glaciers about 10,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. \n\nWhilst we head back to Halifax, we enjoy a photo stop at the Halifax Citadel. This hilltop area allows guests a stunning panoramic view of the city and harbour, creating a great finish to your half day shore excursion.

Excellent Day Trip! - Our bus tour driver was amazing at telling us history and telling us stories about the area. Also, Peggy's cove itself is incredible. We had lots of time to explore ourselves and see the area.

Halifax Visit - We had a great tour guide and very much liked all of the stops and the whole experience. Hallifax is a beautiful town and we learned so much from Johnathan. Peggy's cove was beautiful and we had a great time visiting Hallifax.

Halifax Sept/Oct 2019 - this was an enjoyable trip. the town tour is a typically town tour. the weather at the cove was a bit cold and windy the day we toured. the lighthouse and views are spectacular. the view when arriving to the lighthouse is breathtaking. wish the tour bus could have stopped for a picture. the one in my memory will have to do! 3 of us enjoyed a Peggy's Cover hot dog from a local vendor. Yes a hot dog.

Peggy's cove - very informative excursion in a comfortable bus, too bad the fog socked in Peggy's cove. But that no one has any control over! would recommend for this stop

Great place - Honestly one of the most beautiful places i have ever visited, worth the money for sure. I recommend for families going on vacation especially if you're down in the east coast. I'll be seeing you soon Peggy's Cove!

Not much more than a ride - Driver was nice and bus was comfortable, but the “city tour” involved a quick bus ride through and we were just dropped off to run around the lighthouse for a bit. Lighthouse and area are beautiful, I was just expecting more of an actual tour than a bus ride to the attraction.

Mistakes from the beginningI - We lost a half day of vacation waiting for guide who later told us that they do not have a vehicle to transport 8 individuals (tho they accepted booking). Guide said that Viator cancelled our booking and Viator said Tour Company cancelled booking. We did finally get to Peggy's Cove for a short visit but nothing for Best of Halifax. I dont know if it was Viator or the Tour Company's fault but this excursion was a disaster from the start.

Mixup equals canceled tour - The description from Viator was not what was delivered. Therefore the company canceled our tour. They did, however, refund my money. Viator needs to do more fact checking about their descriptions.

not much there - we had a nice bus trip but Peggy's Cove didn't have much to see. It lasted 1;30 minutes. way too long as there is nothing to do there. 30 minutes tops. it needs to be combined with other sites
