Highlights
  • 73CF+7X Peekskill - Come and experience the magic of nature in the Lower Hudson Valley in a whole new way through immersing yourself in one of the area’s best-kept secrets: the expansive forests of Blue Mountain Park in Peekskill, NY (just over an hour north of NYC).

We’ll explore the forest and connect with nature through a slow-paced, easeful sensory exploration based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (“forest bathing”). Decades of studies have discovered a wide range of health benefits associated with this practice, including stress relief, better sleep, lowered blood pressure and inflammation, and improved immunity.

Your trained and certified guide will lead the way, offering optional invitations designed to help you step into your own authentic way of being in the outdoors.

When we intentionally slow ourselves down and awaken our senses, we can find a sense of connection with parts of ourselves and the natural world that we may not have even noticed we were missing.

Forest therapy is for everybody. No special skills or equipment required. We’ll cover about 1 mile in distance total, taking plenty of seated breaks along the way for our invitations.

What's Included
  • Seating provided
  • Warm blanket offered in cold weather
  • Bug spray available
  • Basic first aid kit on hand
Additional Information

Discover the natural wonder of the Lower Hudson Valley from a unique perspective. We will embark on a journey through the woodland, immersing ourselves in the natural world in a calm and leisurely sensory adventure rooted in the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-yoku, or ‘forest bathing’.

Q: I already frequent nature walks or hikes. What’s distinct about a led forest bathing activity?

A: Guided forest bathing allows you to shift all cognitive burden off your shoulders and sincerely engage with the surroundings, with the comfort of knowing that logistics like tracking time, mapping the path, and supervision will be handled by me. I will also provide you with sensory-focused prompts that let you perceive the woodland from an innovative angle and attune to the tangible present and the essence of nature. Additionally, I will arrange opportunities for communal sharing, where we can engage in active listening and respect the experiences of others in a purposeful and fulfilling manner.

amazing and thoughtful, such a wonderful grounding experience - Forest therapy walks are so regenerative and soothing. I felt genuinely destressed, energized, and in a better mood. It was so centering and grounding, there have been so many times in the last few years when anxiety and stress were through the roof, and this is the perfecet antidote. And, Fru is an amazing guide! She is very welcoming and fun and made it easy to relax into the experience.
