A Wonderful Dinner (Making) Experience - What a great experience we had cooking dinner at Le Foodist in Paris. I booked the dinner meal as a surprise for my wife on our visit to Paris last week. I'm not much of a cook, but she loves to cook. This class was great for both of us. She was able to utilize her knowledge of food and cooking, and I learned a lot. The setting was cozy and inviting. And our instructor, Paolo, was fantastic. He was very engaging, both when providing the how-to's, but also when talking about food/Paris history, and his very interesting life. And, at the end of the day, the meal was wonderful, from appetizer to dessert. Highly recommended.

Cooking in Paris - We'd never taken a cooking class before so why not start in Paris?! My husband and I went with 2 other couples and there were 2 other women in our group, so the size was a little smaller than normal. Paulo was our guide through the market, as well as the chef. He was very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher as we learned about the AOC standards for wines, cheeses and meats. We sampled some delicious cheese and baguette before taking the metro to the Foodist classroom where we started cooking. After demonstrating techniques, Paulo split us into small groups to prepare different parts of the meal. Our meal consisted of a cauliflower leek soup, Coq au Vin Ballotine, potatoes gratin, a mixture of veggies cut into circles with a melon baller (which was a technique I'd never seen before) and poached pears with homemade ice cream and chocolate ganache for dessert. There was also plenty of good red and white wine to enjoy. It was a fun experience and we left very full! I'd highly recommend this for something unique to do in Paris. My husband has never cooked before and he did a great job so don't be afraid if cooking isn't your forte!

My favorite experience, by far! - Even with the most magnificent sights, architecture, and history all around us - this was the highlight of our trip. We had so much fun learning about French cooking from Frederick. It was an evening filled with an appreciation for food and wine while surrounded by great company. Fred made us all feel at home and was a patient instructor. We learned techniques that we can apply at home and all played a part in the preparation of a tremendous meal that we can confidently repeat in our own homes. We all left smiling after having spent a lovely time at Le Foodist and made some great new friends. I’d return in a heartbeat!

Great day learning to cook wonderful foods - Our chef-- Paolo-- was wonderful! He was funny and engaging. He started by explaining the dishes to us, then showed us the proper kitchen tools and knives to use, and most importantly how to use them safely. He showed us how to prepare ingredients by illustrating techniques we should use to wash, slice and size them so as to be recipe ready. Tasks were then assigned to each student for completion. Once all food was cooked, we all sat down to enjoy the food we had prepared with Paolo. It was wonderful: the shared food and wine food was delicious; the chef and other students were all interesting people and we had a lot of laughs while getting to know each other. I would highly recommend this class, so much so, that we will undoubtedly take another cooking class when we return to Paris next year.

10/10 - You won’t regret booking a class with Le Foodist - A group of girls decided to plan a girl’s trip to Paris, and we all loved food so I suggested that we book a cooking class while there. We were all so incredibly impressed with our experience, especially the knowledge, professionalism, and genuine love for food that Chef Luc displayed. Chef Luc was incredibly engaging and fun to work with! Le Foodist also has a wonderful set-up that was super clean and organized. All their staff were warm and friendly. We really enjoyed the market visit, so I would definitely recommend to include that if you choose lunch or dinner cooking class. The cute market is located in Saint Germaine, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris. I saw that there were options for baking classes and I would definitely want to sign up for another class when I return to Paris. Thank you to Chef Luc and the rest at Le Foodist, for a lovely and memorable experience!

Great Experience! Must book! - During our girl’s trip we decided to book a French cooking class, and we are so happy we did it with Le Foodist! Luc was a wonderful guide at the market and an incredible chef/teacher. All of us had an amazing time learning to cook a three course French meal. Now it’s time to recreate it back home with our families. We can’t recommend Luc and this great experience enough!

An excellent culinary adventure - A truly enjoyable experience! Chef Paolo led us through the St. Germain market to buy ingredients that we then took back to Foodist’s space to cook and eat. And there was plenty of wine, too! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do while in Paris, I highly recommend spending an evening with Chef Paolo.
