Our favorite museum at the least crowded time with a fabulous guide! - First off, if you really want to get the most of your museum tour, definitely do a small group tour, like this one! You can ask questions, make special requests of what to see, and not waste precious tour time spent finding all of the members of your group (it still happens in a small group, but not as much). If you want to see art pieces post-renaissance, especially the impressionism and pointillism artists, Orsay is your museum tour! The Louvre is all of the art up through the renaissance. We had Barbara as our guide and since we had booked a late afternoon time on a weekday (less popular time), we were surprised to have a private tour ... just us! Barbara made sure that we saw the artists we wished to see, plus the museum's most famous works. The museum was not crowded at the time we went, giving us the ability to see more of the museum and to see important pieces without waiting for people to clear. Spend the money on an person-led tour. You'll miss so much trying to self-tour!

Great tour with a great guide! - Amazing tour with a great guide! Marcel was fantastic! He did a great job of teaching us about the history behind the works of art we saw. Because he was so great at navigating the museum we managed to see a ton of art in a relatively short period of time. He kept the entire family entertained and we learned a lot of art history. Ask for Marcel; he was amazing!

Excellent small group tour of Orsay - Excellent small group tour in which we learned much about the outstanding paintings and sculptures along with a history of the building, which is amazing in and of itself. Our tour guide, Malaika, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgable about the displays in each section of the museum and the history of the building itself. She also found the ballroom doors open so we were treated to a tour of rooms not normally included in any tour.

Orsay with a guide in a small group is a great way to go! - Malika was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, spoke English very well and spoke clearly. The tour was interesting and a good way to visit the museum as my wife and I learned much more than if we had visited on our own. You can't interact with a pre-recorded audio tour and it was nice to be able to ask questions and interact with Mailika in our small group.

A Vibrant Journey Through the Orsay's Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Masterpieces - Kotryna was a wonderful guide! She taught us about the building (built as a train station), that now houses the largest collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world, by painters including Morisot, Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Sisley, Gauguin, and Van Gogh. We learned a lot about French art dating from 1848 to 1914. Kotryna was fun, excited about the artwork and about sharing her knowledge of the historical period that covers the Orsay. Thank you for a wonderful tour! Also, the museum is on the beautiful Left Bank of Paris right on the Seine river. Enjoy!

Informative tour with Eduardo - This tour was wonderful. I learned so much from our guide Eduardo. He gave in depth information about each painter and what they were trying to "say" with each painting. Hearing how individual painters were able to influence the way art was changing via new techniques, their use of color, their chosen subject matter and the type of brush strokes used was fascinating. We learned how the invention of paint tubes changed art. Painting outside and observing first-hand how the sunlight affected the color / light/ shadows must have been eye opening to the painters themselves. Eduardo brought a wealth of knowledge to our discussions. I highly recommend this tour!
