Montmarte food tour - My husband and I did the Montmarte tour with Claire a couple of weeks ago. This was our last activity after a weeklong stay in Paris. Of everything we did during our trip, I felt that this tour gave us the best glimpse into what it could look like to actually live in Paris. This is so much more than a food tour - we learned about history, culture, traditions, etc of the city. Unfortunately we had a cold and rainy day, but I still thought the pace was comfortable and the day was pleasant. The tour consists mostly of popping into different shops and purchasing small foods - bread, cheese, meats, etc. We also sampled some baked goods during this time. Eventually, we sat down at a small restaurant where all of our purchases were arranged into a charcuterie and cheese plate and we ate this along with samples of wines. The format gave us the chance to chat with shop owners and the owner of the restaurant in a relaxed and informal way. The food was plentiful - we weren’t able to finish everything. But, we never felt uncomfortable like I have on some food tours. We finished by wandering around Montmarte and our guide ended the tour by leaving us on the steps of Sacre coure where we were able to continue on our own. I truly loved this tour and hope to repeat in other parts of the city when we return to Paris.

Amazing blend of food and culture! - The tour was amazing and Claire was an incredible guide! All of the stops were very tasty, and it was interesting to get to also hear about the history of Montmartre as we walked through the streets. Claire was a lovely guide, I was solo on my tour and she was very willing to entertain my questions and hear my thoughts. Would HIGHLY recommend!! ❤️

This Food Tour is a MUST! - I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful this tour was — Chef PJ is the real deal! Hands down this is a must-food tour because it’s so authentic from a local with so much passion for the food, the people, how food is sourced and who is sourcing it. I even learned the 3 basics of pairing wine, and I wasn’t even a wine person before this. Bravo Chef PJ for such an immersive and memorable experience! You taught me about good food, culture, history and enjoying it all with diverse company. Thank you!

Fully engaging, educational, and just plain fun. - Husband and I had a great experience on the local food tour in Montmartre. We learned lots about food sourcing in France and were impressed with PJ's knowledge about the area, history as it relates to the area and current situations, and especially his passion for his fellow business folks in the area. He was very attentive to his guests and kept us actively involved even in crowded areas. He definitely has a commanding personality. His 3 course meal was among the best meals we had in Paris and he shared his tricks for preparation. A delightful way to experience the neighborhood. We would highly recommend.

Buckle up and enjoy the ride! - We are big fans of food tours and this one did not disappoint. It was different from other food tours we have been on where you got a small bite and drink at each stop. At the first stop, you have coffee and a croissant while PJ tells you about the tour. Then there were several stops where PJ educated us on French food, wine and history. Word of caution - there is no food after the cafe until lunch at his restaurant. For our group, this was a long time - it was around 3pm by the time we actually had lunch. From then on, we were well served with both food and wine! Although we had a blast - I rate this as a 4 instead of a 5 because there was simply too much information. PJ is very passionate about food, wine and his wonderful community of Montmartre and he is also very entertaining. We learned a lot from him, however, in hindsight, it was a bit of information overload. It would have been nice to have more balance/chance to talk and get to know our fellow travelers a little more. Despite getting a bit hangry in the middle, we did really enjoy the tour and the lunch was outstanding!
