Highlights
  • Carreau du Temple - This building was a second-hand clothing market from 1863. It kind of embodies the history of Le Marais, as it went from a poor neighborhood to a trendy one. Now it’s used as an exhibition hall.
  • Marche des Enfants Rouges - This is the oldest food market in Paris. It’s included in so many food tours, documentaries, and books. Parisians love to come here on weekends, we’ll see together why.
  • La Rue des Rosiers - La rue des Rosiers is the heart of the Jewish district of Paris. There has been a Jewish community in Paris since the Middle Age, and coming to this street is a great way to discover the Jewish culture.
  • Place des Vosges - A Royal square dating back to 1612. Truly the landmark of Le Marais. Victor Hugo used to live on that square. We’ll see why it’s iconic and how beautiful it is.
  • 4th Arr. - Hotel-de-Ville - This is the City Hall of Paris. We’ll talk about its history and how the architecture of the Hotel de Ville really stands out. We’ll end the tour by this building, at the very center of Paris.

Le Marais and then some - Our tour was guided by Andrea He isn't just a tour guide, he is passionate about Paris architecture and street art. He thoughtfully explained the history of the community's art, pointing out lessor seen works of art. He led us through quiet "private" gardens. Our tour was 2.5 hours at Andrea's request. He wanted to make sure we saw everything! Overall great tour.

Great way to see the old Paris & all its beauty - My daughter (teen) and I absolutely loved our walking tour with Clara!! What a fun way to see and enjoy a part of the city that is somehow often overlooked on your typical Parisian itinerary. This neighborhood is magically beautiful and full of history both hidden and still standing. Clara told us about kings, crusaders, builders, and merchant mayors and it never felt like a lesson but we learned SO MUCH. Thank you for a great walk and we will recommend all our friends!!

Marais with Vincent - We loved our guides, Vincent and Shakira. They were so friendly and knowledgeable. Interesting history in this district and so much to see. We loved the Red Market, the vegan bakery (yummy cookies) and great shopping. Thank you Vincent!
