An amazing day in Versailles! - I went to Paris with my friend to celebrate our 50th birthday and this was the best excursion! There was a convenient meeting point so we all could take the 30-minute train ride together to get to Versailles. Our tour guide, Jude, was very knowledgeable and fun. He also accommodated the group as needed and there was no pressure to rush. We biked to the palace, where we parked our bikes and walked around the gardens. We also had a picnic lunch near the canal and then biked some more to the other sites, the Grand Trianon, Le Petit Trianon (Marie Antoinette's home) and the Queen's Hamlet, which is a small village with a farm. At the end we dropped off our bikes and were had access to the inside of the palace. Very well organized, but does involve a good 6 hours of biking and walking, so you should be a moderately active person. HIGHLY recommended. I can't think of another way to cover the immense grounds of the property...

Insider’s view of Versailles - We had a terrific day with Bike About Tours in Versailles. We saw so much more of the city and the palace grounds than we would have if we’d gone on our own. Visiting the beautiful food markets and picnicking in the Versailles gardens were a highlight. Many thanks to Marley for a fabulous tour!

Best way to see Versailles - Great tour!! Our guide David took us to some really cool places on the palace grounds that were even more interesting than the palace itself, and we definitely would’ve missed out on those spots without his guidance. It rained a lot on our tour, but he brought ponchos for us and we still had a great time. Would totally recommend!!

Beautiful way to explore Versailles! - Gorgeous tour in Versailles! Our guide Marley was energetic, funny, and very knowledgable about French history. She had great recommendations for everything from which vendors to get the best picnic fare from, to where to find the best photo spots in Versailles, to what to look out for at each of the main points of attraction. The tour was very well organized every step of the way and the bikes were very comfortable. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a lovely day trip during their Paris stay!

Not Just Any Bike Tour! - I can't underscore how excellent this tour was for me and my family of four (including 2 teenagers who did not want to wake early for this mom-scheduled activity but quickly fell in love with it after the day got started). Our guide, Marley, was delightful -- fun, funny, SO knowledgeable, approachable and had wonderful relevant stories. It was raining on and off but we were barely bothered by it b/c Marley, prepared with ponchos if/when needed, kept it moving and engaging! We bonded with the rest of our tour -- about 3-4 other groups of similar size and it was definitely a trip highlight! I highly, highly, highly recommend this specific tour and tour guide (if you can recommend her). Oh, and cheat sheet for anyone who is lucky enough to book with her -- "don't be a Doug!" Listen to her and you will have an amazing time.

Great way to experience Versailles! - My husband and I really enjoyed this experience! It was a leisurely way to explore the estate by bike with scenic stops along the way, a pleasant picnic by the canal, and visits to Trianon, Petite Trianon, Queen’s Hamlet, and the gardens. The bikes are comfy and the ride is mostly flat. Our guide, Jude, was knowledgeable and personable. Note that it’s basically an all-day experience if you also want to go I side the Chateau. We’d recommend it!

Not what we signed up for. - I think our guide mixed up the tours because we didn't sign up to stop at the market for an hour and we still had a 30-minute picnic both of which caused us to get caught in a thunderstorm and the guided didn't seem concerned that we almost missed our admission into Versailles which was the main point of interest for us. We spent more time resting than biking which caused us to get stuck at the Petit Trianon in a thunderstorm and also caused us a late return to return the bikes, as well as having to ride in the rain. Our tickets for Versailles were for 15:30 and we made it by 17:00 only because we ran from the bike storage to the palace and still almost didn't get admitted plus the audio guides were no longer available. Luckily our guide had called ahead so we were allowed into the palace or the main reason for our trip to Versailles would have been removed. This all could have been avoided if we had skipped the unscheduled market stop.
