-
View the exquisite collection of Monet’s Japanese engravings, arranged in various rooms and displayed in frames chosen by the master of Giverny himself. After an extensive restoration project, Claude Monet’s Giverny property, gifted to the Académie des Beaux-arts by his son in 1966, was transformed into the Claude Monet Foundation, officially opening in 1980. The expansive Nymphéas studio, a short walk from the main house, has also been renovated and currently houses the Foundation’s Shop.
-
Delight in the garden’s stunning array of rejuvenated flora that once inspired Monet’s peers to regard his outdoor work as some of his best. The geometric Clos Normand, laden with arches of climbing plants interwoven with vibrant shrubs, sits just outside the house and studios, treating visitors to the vivid color palette that Monet, an avowed flower lover, enjoyed from spring through fall.
-
Finally, appreciate the tranquility of the Water Garden, nestled further away and canopied by weeping willows. Home to the renowned Japanese Bridge, wisterias, azaleas, and a peaceful pond, this beautiful sanctuary again resonates with the interplay of sky and water that gave birth to Monet’s iconic water lily paintings.
