Frederick is the best! - The class emphasized balance and restraint—how to build flavor without masking ingredients, and how to judge texture and doneness by sight and touch. The dishes demonstrated a well-rounded French repertoire: comforting soups, precise sauces, classic desserts, and comforting bakes that celebrate simple ingredients done well. If you’re considering a cooking class in Paris or elsewhere with Le Foodist, I highly recommend asking for Chef Frederick. His expertise and instructional warmth made this an outstanding culinary day.

Great class don’t miss out. - I have done several market visits in Paris and it is always a fun, learning experience. The cooking part of this was fun and informative as well. I really appreciated how Chef Fred went into background details as to why certain things were done and what affects they had on the food we were making. Great class don’t miss out.

Highly recommend! - Our family of four had a fantastic experience. Our guide, Frédéric, was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. We loved going to the market with him and then coming back to the lovely kitchen and learning how to make the dishes. Frédéric taught us a lot about French culture along the way. This was a highlight of our vacation in Paris.

An All-Day Cooking, Eating, and Drinking Extravaganza - Our family of four (two parents and two college-aged kids) had such a great day with Frederick at our lunch cooking class including a market visit to buy the ingredients. We enjoyed seeing how Parisians shop and exploring the market ourselves. Frederick assessed correctly that we are all really interested in cooking and gave everyone hands-on jobs all along the way. He talked us through the chemistry behind what we were doing and guided us in judging when our work was done by look, feel, and smell versus just telling us when something was done. The food and wine were all delicious!

So much fun! - Frederic was such a pleasure. We learned so much about French culture and cuisine and took away great recipes. The market tour is a must see. It was like spending the afternoon with your favorite French uncle who happens to be an amazing chef.

Don’t think, just Buy - Worth every penny. If you’re on the fence about doing this cooking class, let this review alleviate any concerns. This was hands down one of the best activities that we did in Paris and one of the best cooking classes I’ve ever taken (and that’s said by someone who always takes cooking classes when they travel). The entire experience was fun, rewarding, and I learned a lot about the science of cooking. Frederick was our host and chef and he was incredible - knowledgeable, funny, warm, and knows how to make everyone feel included. Recommendation 1 is to take the full class with the market tour, it makes the cooking class that much more enjoyable. Recommendation 2 is to not schedule a nice dinner later in the evening when you take this class because you will be full the rest of the day. Potential concerns: allergies / food dislikes. Don’t worry, the chef will ask and take any and all concerns into consideration. They went to the nearby market and bought toasted almond milk to substitute for cream when someone in our group was dairy free. Insanely accommodating. All this to say - buy this class, fit it into your Paris schedule, you will not be disappointed.

A fantastic and authentic way to spend a day in Paris - What a fantastic way to spend a day in Paris. Luc was engaging, fun and very knowledgable and passionate. We started with coffee and pastries. The market visit made us feel like locals, and the food we cooked was delicious, as was the wine. Even my 17 year old son loved it, it was the first thing he told friends and family about when we got home.

10/10 - Amazing class with chef Luc! The class was very informative, but more importantly, lots of fun. Luc was hilarious and had everyone laughing. Totally worth it! I went solo but this would be a great couple’s class or family class.
