Highlights
  • Musee d’Orsay - HIGHLIGHTS
    • Benefit from hassle-free access to the Orsay Museum with skip-the-line tickets
    • Entertain your kids by exploring the museum to solve a puzzle
    • Witness the very best of Impressionist art
    • Enjoy a nice coffee break in the museum café itself

Meet your guide in front of the magnificent Musée d’Orsay façade and receive your skip-the-line tickets and an activity booklet for each kid. Through a no-line entrance, you’ll immediately begin your journey into French art history.

First marvel above your heads: the Great Clock reminds us of the time the museum was a train station. Don’t you still feel trains passing from time to time? Your guide will tell you more about these intriguing vibrations while suggesting your kids focus on their first riddle about… the Statue of Liberty! Afterwards, and according to your children’s own interests, you might stop at a Rodin sculpted group or at Pompon’s Polar Bear.

A whole section of the museum is dedicated to the Paris Opera House, as it was the most symbolic building of the period the museum covers (1848-1914). And the river which navigates the Phantom of the Opera? Is it only a legend? Hmm… Ask your top-rated guide, and you shall have the answer!

The Impressionist gallery will overwhelm your expectations and also those of your kids. Because every masterpiece has a little secret to unveil: who really are the characters in Claude Monet’s Poppies? What is so surprising about Degas’s statue Small Dancer Aged 14? Did Cézanne eat all the apples he painted?

Thanks to your Welcomer’s explanations, tailored around your children’s ages and levels, your family will experience an interactive, artistic discovery and won’t miss any must-see paintings, whether it be Van Gogh’s Sunflowers or Gauguin’s Tahitian scenes.

Last but not least, beautiful overviews of Orsay architecture and Paris roofs will be available all along your visit from terraces or lookouts. Then you’ll enjoy a refined moment in one of the Orsay stylish cafés. There is even a ballroom to be seen; if you suddenly feel like a 1900’s waltz dancer… well that’s just the consequence that an inspired visit to the Orsay Museum can have!

Great company - I highly recommend this company. Dominique helped organize a wide variety of tours for my family in Paris including the Louvre, the Orsay, Versailles and Montmartre. She was super responsive to my emails and calls and made sure all the details were worked out before we arrived to Paris. The guides that did the tours were great with the kids and we had a blast.

Perfect tours for families! - We had the most incredible time with both Nathalie and Sebastien. They were just wonderful people to go on the tours with and they both engaged our teenage son Zach, who speaks fluent French and mixed up the French and English brilliantly for us as we don’t speak French. When we visit Paris again we will definitely be booking another food tour. We returned to the area where we had the tour to grab more of the delicious goodies we tasted. We also did the side car tour, to the absolute delight of everyone involved, and the tour of Versailles. If you are after unique and memorable experiences, you can’t do better than Meet the Locals.

Amazing experience with Meet the Locals!!! - We spent a week in Paris and did all the tours with Meet the Locals. It was absolutely amazing! Everything was well organized, focused on the children and attentive. From the first interactions by email to schedule the tours and organize the agenda until the last contact with them, the service was impeccable. The guide was knowledgeable, well prepared and spoke Portuguese, which was key for the kids to enjoy the tours and learn about French history and culture. We did the tours at the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, the Versailles Palace, the Eiffel Tower, the tuk tuk and the chocolate and pastry tour. We highly recommend Meet the Locals. Next time we travel to Europe, we will definitely contact them.

Museum fun - We had a wonderful day at Musee' dÓrsay. My 12-year-old twins were engaged and loved every minute of the tour. The pre-teen appropriate dialogue and fun clues helped them enjoy their time in the museum (even though is was their 5th in as many days). I highly, highly recommend Meet the Locals, their tours, and their tour guides. Beyond pleased.
