Highlights
  • Eiffel Tower - The Eiffel Tower has been built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel, for the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. This magnificent technical feat was achieved in a mere two years, two months and five days. It stands 324 metres tall, and the metal structure weighs 7,300 tonnes. Parisians were scandalised by its metallic look and height. It was built to last 20 years. A radio antenna was added to the top in 1903, saving the tower from demolition. It has now become the monument symbolic of Paris.

Good boat cruise to see Paris. - Was in Paris with my wife and two young daughters, and wanted to give them the proper Paris experience, so booked the Eiffel Tower, and then a boat cruise setting off form the foot of the tower. Our tour of the tower had taken A LOT more than the 2.5 hours advertised by the tour company, as initially we had allowed ourselves 1.5 hours between tours, but our tower tour was over 4 hours long, and it was 13:45 before we were off the tower, and our sailing was booked for 13:30. Thankfully the cruise company are very accommodating, and let us on the 14:00 sailing. Done Seine cruises before, and always enjoyed them, and this was was excellent also. Excellent way to kill a hour, and get to see the best of Paris.

Cruise on the Seine - Very interesting trip on the Seine with lots of insights, plus an entertaining, English-speaking guided tour. Prices for drinks are completely reasonable.

Spluttery - It was okay, the boat was producing a lot of smelly fumes so it was hard to enjoy without coughing. But we enjoyed the views, we selected the picnic ticket but they picnic is not on the boat ride it’s afterwards on the dock given through a container window

Needs better communication - I wasn't told that due to high water levels the cruise would be cut short and not pass any of the major monuments. While I understand this is outside of the group's control, they could've indicated this to customers and given them the option to be refunded instead of them finding out after the boat had already left the shore. Also, apparently the high water levels had been an issue for the entire week/ wasn't a surprise. Poor communication all around!

Could have been better - Our trip was abbreviated due to flooding and high river waters. Boat was delayed and crowded on the lower deck as the top deck was niot able to be used due to the highwaters. We also had to rlturn around earlier than usual and did not get to go be Notre Dame.

Ok Tour - The tour guide was difficult to hear and hard to follow, I found myself looking everywhere around us trying to figure out what she was talking about. She jumped around from one thing to the other quickly and if you stopped listening to take photos, you’d miss a bunch of things. The trip on the river was nice.

Would not recommend - Difficult to understand what was being shared regarding what we were seeing. The translator talked way too fast!

Not worth your time - The cruise was difficult to endure. The sites we were going to see changed because of flooding. We decided to still go on it with free soft drink tickets being offered. I have no idea what they were showing us partly due to not being able to hear what the guide was saying and partly due to the wild feral children running about spilling their drinks everywhere. Was a waste of an hour.
